June 2006

It would seem that the generous folks at Dreamworks decided to let us diehard Transformers fanatics get an early glimpse of the teaser trailer before it’s July 4 theatric debut. FilmForceIGN dropped the official word earlier today, which not surprisingly, sent thousands of online users flocking to the official Transformers site. Can you say, high in demand? I’ve been trying to get a peek over the past 10 minutes and can’t get past the first 5 seconds. All I hear is “Seven… Six… Five…” before it just stalls. Nothing else. You’d think they would of made it a downloadable file… and have mirror sites… you know, somethign that’s just more accessible and practical? I mean, what genius decides to offer a teaser trailer in Flash format? Hello?!!? *flicks off Dreamworks* :p

Interesting tidbit, this movie is coming out on the same day Spiderman 3 debuts. I think a lot more ppl will be putting their cash out for the next Spidey release — or they may end up doing what I plan to: seeing one right after the other. ;)

*sigh* STILL no luck… WTF???? I wanna see the trailer!!!!! *stomps feet and pouts* Guess I’ll go and play some Street Fighter Anthology or watch the original Superman flicks in preparation for my second viewing of Superman Returns. Hasta.

Oh — and I realize that I haven’t been talking too much about the site. Some of you think I probably don’t care anymore or that this is just the early signs of someone that’s ready to fold his cards. Rest assured, I’m still VERY much into this site, but it’s great to take some time off, relax and persue other interests. Although July will undoubtedly be a slow month, we’re just one step closer to a very important month… a month of anniversaries and such. Yeah, that would be ours… GotNext’s 2nd year online. Yay. So who’s ordering the cake and ice cream? O_o

It took me a while but I finally found my way to the latest Dragon Quest and man this game has restored my faith in the RPG. It’s an amazing ride. Simple, expansive, and gorgeous. I just hit the 50 hour mark and, having procured the godbird, think I only have a bit to go. Action is turn-based and simple, but fun — the key point to all of this. There are sidequests, item fusion, and hidden monsters for those of us who love to power level. The last time I spent this long on an RPG was Makai Kingdom, a noticeably lower grade title, but one that I loved and played for more than 100 hours (so I could beat that huge battleship hidden boss).

I’m taking my time with this one as all I have really to look forward to next is Disgaea 2 in Aug. and a couple RPGs in the fall. Speaking of Disgaea 2, I sat down for a bit with the Japanese version and despite the language issues, I was pleased with the interface. It’s typical NIS goodness. I’m excited to see how they will expand the dark senate and what some of the dialogue will be like (the ridiculous accents and dialogue are a key for enjoying NIS games!). Plus, the attack animations are freaking insane. Overall, I have to say that Disgaea 2 is my top “must-have” for 2006.

Also youtube has some boss fights and other videos of D2 is action.

…eh – you know the rest. I’m talking about Superman Returns. Just saw a special pre-midnight screening and I was quite impressed — definitely going to check it out again this Friday — I expect the theater in Stonington, CT to be PACKED. Don’t worry, there won’t be any spoilers as I know many of you probably won’t be seeing it until later tonight, which marks its true official opening. I just wanted to acknowledge that I was much more pleased with this film compared to that disappointing performance that was X-men: The Last Stand.

Edit: As promised – here are some shots of the new wheels based on my previous posted the other night:

It’s my first set of wheels and I couldn’t be happier. I’ll get into the specifics later — I’m still cleaning. Here’s a showcase pic:

It’s a 2006 Saturn Ion 2. My friend on TNL joked that he’s never heard of a male actually driving a Saturn and told me “Congrats, I think.” LOL! =D

I’ll take shots of the actual car (which is dark grey btw) in a bit…after I’m done cleaning.

And straight from Hong Kong, too!

Leave me alone until the import review, pls. =D
