Makoto, Dudley, Cody and Ibuki show off their stuff.
Many of you have been eagerly looking forward to new footage of Super SFIV and thanks to Youtube Feuerwhrbrot, several new clips featuring some of the new fighters in action. I should warn you, the footage showcases players who clearly new to the Street Fighter IV engine (see: unable to execute simple 2-in-1 combos, ouch!) If you’re able to look past the noob-esque quality of these battles, more footage can also be found here or jump straight over to the new footage at GameTrailers, featuring Justin Wong showing how it’s done with Ibuki, Dudley and Makoto.
…and sets out to offer more beyond the community forums for 2010.
It’s great to see longtime destinations like Shoryuken.com still around. Long before the days of Youtube; Twitter and blogs — casual and hardcore gamers alike use to pass along their knowledge on the humble newsgroups of Usenet. As time moved on, one visionary from the West Coast set out to create a more accessible online platform. Over the past decade, Shoryuken.com has evolved into one of the most popular websites in which players of all skill levels could develop their competitive edge. It also gave birth the classic “Domination 101″ articles, composed by Seth Killian, in addition to numerous comprehensive guides created by some of the most talented and respected players in the fighting game community.
It’s because of the unconditional support and passion of its community that has helped Shoryuken.com to thrive, so it’s only fitting to see the site relaunch with a renewed focus that aspires to go beyond the message boards and tap deeper into the very knowledge that’s helped some of the most elite players reach their level.
I don’t want to spoil the details — you’ll have to drop over there for yourself to get the details. Check out the full introduction from Mr. Cannon here and congrats to the SRK team on your 10th anniversary.
(As for us… we’ll be popping back shortly with some upcoming news once I can locate Nick — he’s probably tied up with Borderlands).
More reasons to get hype!
It’s still several months away and yet Super SFIV appears to be generating more interest and excitement with every new update. Earlier this week, Famitsu scans featuring screenshots of Adon, Guy, Cody (and supposedly Ibuki was playfully hinted at too). Today, IGN took it one step further by offering the first true glimpse of these characters in action. Nothing else really needs to be said other than: day one!
East v. West; this battle’s about to explode.
Street Fighter IV may seem dead online, but offline, the game remains popular as ever.
This evening, Gootecks is hosting the latest Bar Fights event featuring Empire Arcadia against some of Southern California’s top talent. Look forward to seeing Justin Wong, Arturo “Sabin” Sanchez, L.I. Joe Marn Phan and Sanford Kelly go head-to-head against Alex Valle, Ed Ma, Combofiend, and some unannounced participants.
It’s all going down very soon (22 minutes at the time of this article being published). Get hype! Thanks to Triforce for the heads up.
