Set pilot to “auto” in NSMB Wii

Cheating will always be around. Be it the famous Konami code, various cheat peripherals, or even strategy guides, but Nintendo is upping the ante with its upcoming New Super Mario Bros. Wii release set for later this year. According to a confirmation in USA Today, Miyamoto is launching a feature called “demo play” that will automatically complete areas that you have difficulty with.

The definitive version of GG finally makes it to US shores.

Aksys Games has announced that the most current iteration of the Guilty Gear XX saga is coming to the US this spring for the PS2, PSP, and Wii. Fans familiar to the less plussy version of Accent Core will find an updated story, some tweaks to survival mode, a team battle mode, and best of all the inclusion of 2 returning characters from previous games (Kliff and Justice). As if that wasn’t enough, according to Games Radar, all boxed copies of the game will also come with a free soundtrack!

The game is still alive!

Cave Story’s WiiWare port will feature downloadable content according to Nicalis, the developers responsible for the port. Though the content of the DLC remains to be seen; the thought of more bonus material, in addition to the previously announced enhanced graphics and music makes me very happy as I haven’t played the original yet and will be holding out for this instead. If you’ve also haven’t played the game and don’t want to wait for it’s release sometime this year (or just want to see what it’s like); Pixel still has the freeware game up on his site. The game is in Japanese, but a translation patch is floating around the internet somewhere.

Now with prices (and slightly updated)!

Amazon released prices and pictures of the SFIV peripherals on their site for pre-orders! Some changes were made since we’ve last seen them, but they all seem to be good ones (except the price). The FightPads has ditched the Neo Geo-esque “click sticks” in favor of a more traditional d-pad. While I think the click stick would have been a lot more interesting, more people are likely to be happier with this change; especially with the d-pad being made to be close to the awesome Sega Saturn controller. The FightPads will retail for $40 with (currently) 5 different character editions (Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Chun-Li, Blanka). Expect the other characters to be represented later down the line, too. Fallout 3, Wii Music, and more.

Monday: A couple weeks ago, Bethesda requested that any and all Fallout 3 trailers be pulled, with the implication that pressure from the ESRB was the concern.  Said trailers created quite a stir due to their depiction of several Washington landmarks as they might appear after a nuclear attack.  While the images were certainly intense, they were far from gratuitous, and certainly appropriate for a game that, well, takes place in Washington after a nuclear attack.  In their most recent roundtable, the gentlemen at GameTrailers share their rather colorful thoughts on the matter.  You have to skip to the last few minutes of the clip, but their accusations of the organization’s heavy-handedness are absolutely worth a listen.
