Enjoy 55 music tracks directly on the sequel = sweet.

In a move that’s certain to delight existing Rock Band owners, Harmonix has released a new export tool that will 55 tracks from the original release to be playable on the upcoming sequel. Please note that this mandatory update does come with a small fee (400 MS Points) for re-licensing purposes if you’re planning to obtain future DLC content releases for the original title.

The 55 exportable tracks will join the weekly DLC content that’s already past the 200 mark and the additional 100 songs featured in the sequel. Harmonix has promised to deliver over 500 new songs by the end of 2008. Madness. It’s a good thing that I have selective tastes or they’d be making a fortune just off my personal DLC purchases alone.

TNL will of course be covering the single and multiplayer experiences of Rock Band 2 shortly after our reviewable copy arrives.
