Four days. One flat fee. Where do we sign???

Tokyo Game Action has joined the growing list of nationwide arcades who’ve began investing in picking up Street Fighter IV. As you might have guessed, this news has naturally piqued my interest since I am only an hour away from the Massachusetts border. If you still haven’t got a chance to play and you’re within driving distance, this is one event you can’t afford to miss.

According to the highlights posted on the Tokyo Game Action forums, a 4-day event has been planned to commemorate the SFIV’s debut in Mass. running from September 25 thru the 28th. Attendees who come on the 27th will be treated to snacks and SFIV-related prizes to be given out via a raffle sweepstakes. TGA will have 4 single-player widescreen Japanese cabinets networked together, featuring the official Capcom SF4 Sanwa control panels. No ghetto arcade setups, whoo! Hopefully they’ll use the Vewlix cabinets that were featured at E3 2008 and offer attendees IC cards. :D

Though here’s the ultimate reason why it’s worth making the trip. TGA will be offering a $20 flat rate PER DAY for all to enjoy SFIV (and other featured fighting games) for ALL FOUR DAYS. Each machine will be set to FREE PLAY, so after you pay the fee, there’s no need to use any tokens… just hit start, play and kick ass. One flat fee is >>> $1.00 per game, right? Attendees should note that single-player matches will not be allowed, which means if you’ll have to get your practice in as you’re facing off against other challenges. Make sure you let everyone in your party know what they’re up against because it’s all or nothing.

TGA’s four day schedule is as follows:

  • Thursday, September 25th (2 pm to 10pm)
  • Friday, September 26th (2pm to Midnight)
  • Saturday, September 27th (Noon to 2AM) ** Cake and cookies will be provided **
  • Sunday, September 28th (2pm to 10pm)

Suddenly September 25th feels soooo far away. Well fortunately, TGA is hoping to offer a special weekend bonus preview (depending on a timely arrival of the cabinets) that will take place on September 20th and 21st WITH the special $20.00 Flat Fee rate. Oh, this news is just too good to be true, I might have to relocate.
