if you honestly have nothing to do but flame the ps3 at beyond midnight PST, you're more pathetic then PS3s feb. numbers.
go take your middle school ego somewhere else.
How many times must it be covered... I'm not in your timezone... so it's pretty fucking stupid to pretend that I'm staying up late to flame the PS3.
You fail at life.

Yet amazingly some people still haven't gotten it.

And I like this line in the article about the girl in line for the PS3:
Quote:
...or (d) a homeless crack addict glad of a warm place to sleep tonight where she won't get raped. The rape will instead happen at midnight on Thursday when she hands over her credit card to buy a PS3.
-Folding@Home
-BG Downloading (in and out of game, and so far even while playing online)
-Fixes to Resistance in Players met (going along with the also coming motorstorm patch to use xmb friendlist)
-Disc Auto-start option (was a godsend on the psp, welcomed here too)
-Network settings and tests (if its not new i didnt notice it)
-Remote play via any wifi connection (cant test, 3.03 custom firmware gives ps3 "psp system update required" message)
-Seperate icon for mic/video chat
-Game Icons that are videos will now constant play instead of standard image when not highlighted
-Full screen keyboard
-no more holding, simple press of ps button brings up menu when ingame

folding was an official update? thats interesting.
Well I live in Rochester and here in Rochester a lot of Rochesterians have been looking for the 20 gig machines here in Rochester, but no Rochester retailers in the Rochester area seem to have any 20 gig machines in their Rochester inventory. This means many Rochesterians who want a PS3 from Rochester won't be getting a Rochester PS3, unless it is the 60 gig flavor, and that leaves many a Rochesterian a frustrated Rochesterian here in Rochester.

Talking smack about the PS3 at any hour of the night is a fine thing to do. When there are more than 5 good reasons to own a PS3, then I will stop bashing Sony for releasing a lousy console with no good exclusives.

With all 3rd party games this gen going multi platform that might be a while. Whats does Sony have in house? Ratchet and Clank? ZzzZZZZzZ

thats what they said about bg downloading in game, and its working just fine.

They didn't say it would be fucked up, just that balancing the memory is tougher than it should be with the current design and could possibly impact future titles.
One more platform-exclusive title may be going multiplatform, it has been revealed. The latest news appears to be that Square Enix's latest epic role-playing game, Final Fantasy XIII, may follow other titles--including Saints Row, Assassin's Creed, and Devil May Cry 4--that have now been announced as appearing on at least one other platform as well.
isnt the black already official as a limited edition SKU, and after those sell out the premiums take the specs?
I don't think it's official yet, but I doubt those specs will be going to the premium system since the price for the black one is rumored to be $80 higher. I can't imagine MS charging $80 for a color variation. They're not Apple (or Sony).

After DQ and a lot of other stuff it wouldn't surprise me. The road that Sony has taken (apparently) is big risk but it pays off for people who like games either way.
He means Sony decisions have made developers put their games on more systems, so gamers have more choices. Don't need to buy every system to play all the best games.
So, after I got over the shock that I actually went through with paying $700 for a new video game system and one game, I put in a few hours of gameplay time with the PS3 last night....
To be honest, I actually like the PS3 a hell of a lot more than I initially thought I would. The menu interface is really nice and user friendly, although I don't think it looks as great as the Xbox 360 dashboard. I'm also really digging the new controllers too. I have always hated the dual shock controllers, but it feels like they tweaked the design just enough to make it more comfortable for me. I am also very pleased with the fact that Sony packed in the controller chargers with the system....I sure wish the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii would have come with controller chargers out of the box too.
As far as the games go, all I have played so far is God of War II and Virtua Fighter 5. For some reason, God of War II seems too look and run a lot smoother on the PS3. Virtua Fighter 5 also looks fantastic...even with the standard composite cables. So, I can't wait to see how this game looks once I get my HDMI cables in the mail.
Overall, I would say the PS3 was a very solid purchase for me. Its a very nicely designed system, and it seems to hold its own against the Xbox 360 (mostly because I don't play many games online).Their may not be that many games out for the system right now, but in the long run I still see the PS3 having more titles worth playing than the Wii will have. Yes, as a Wii and Nintendo fanboy, I have to admit that the Wii is looking like the Gamecube and N64 all over again. I'll also be purchasing most of the multiplatform titles on the PS3 now, simply to justify the $700 price tag.
I ordered my HDMI cable about a week before I bought the PS3 to make sure I never saw it using that 1990 trash. My fucking Dreamcast was never even hooked up with composite.

psn isnt gimped for online play, it just hasnt been implimented in a wide variety of games yet. The difference will be night and day when you get the HDMI cable.
hahah...I know. I'll admit it. I bought the system, came home, hooked it up, and then just sat there for about an hour thinking "why the hell did I feel the need to buy this shit." So yes, I will freely admit that I'm still skeptical of the system and its going to have to provide tons of great gaming moments over the next five years to even come close to justifying that type of price tag.
However, I will admit that what I have played so far seems to be very good...and I am actually less disappointed with the PS3 than I am with my Wii. I was expecting some great and innovative games for the Wii, and so far Nintendo hasn't completely delivered what I was expecting. With the PS3 I was expecting a piece of shit...and well...so far its actually not a piece of shit. I'm much more satisfied with the actual design of the system and quality of the games than I was when i originally bought the PS2.
Plus, I'm just banking on the fact that the PS3 will probably still get more JRPGs than the 360. If so, then it will more than satisfactory for me

I say that everytime I buy a console. Or any video game for that matter. I get over it pretty quickly, fortunately or unfortunately.
Good purchase or bad, your reasons for buying a PS3 could have been worse than what you stated. You could have instead spent that $700 solely to play PS2 games in progressive scan. Only an utter fool would do that.

Who gives a shit?
People are so quick to call something altruistic, that can potentially help people PR, yet heed the words of those on the opposing side, who's entire job is PR and FUD, under the guise of "community." Jesus. :/

If you do not feel the PS3 is worth owning, why do you own one?

Speaking of utter fools.
I've gone into my reasons for buying the PS3 multiple times. I'm not doing it again because you can't or refuse to listen, and would prefer to inaccurately paraphrase.
The bottom line is I own the system and still tell it like it is (Sony sucks). And this offends you for some reason. Have fun with that. Nothing's going to change.

VGA was awesome on that system. Made a huge diffrence.

It's true. When I got my 360 I was like "why the heck did I just drop a grand on videogames? I could've killed time on my PSP just as adequately." I got over that, although I must admit I'm hoping this gen lasts for quite a while.
