the pulp fiction like flow of it was a bit disjointed, but whatever. They were under a lot of pressure to do something "different" and it was entertaining. So cool beans.
edit: and watching now, I don't remember wtf happened last episode so I have no idea what's going on now.
I saw last episode and I was confused as hell during the first 2/3s of the episode. But they brought it all together in the end.

Did anyone notice how jacked up 21 was in the second episode? He even had Wolverine single claws.

I think Publick is still determined to not do shirts, but we'll see how long that holds up. He said Helper wouldn't be back and Helper is a fucking Walking Eye now.
Here's the Capt. Sunshine mansion. It's a little too big to upload and I didn't feel like re-sizing it when it looks this cool in hi-res.

You came here to avenge His death, you came here to save mankind...
Can you see now, you cannot do both?

You never fucking see him either. Which makes me wonder if the episodes we are seeing now, take place between the cuts of the first episode of this season.
Third ep is the only decent ep so far. First was garbage, second the jokes were way too obvious and telegraphed.

I've changed my mind about Korian. Anyone that can piss off so many people so easily is awesome. You people are suckers, playing right into his evil yellow hands.
They're trying new stuff with the writing, pacing, and direction of episodes. I'll have to wait until the season is over and i have the box set before I can give a conclusive opinion of what exactly they are doing, however.
They are not bad episodes. Just different. At least imo.
Plus they are missing a lot of the things people came to love by the third season. Brock has seen very little screen time. No 21/24 banter. Next to zero Quizboy/White banter. Very little Dean/hank interaction.
But this is just the first three episodes. All of that could change by the forth episode. And who knows, maybe they are cutting back on voice talent to put money into something else, like getting a led zeppelin track for an episode where Brock beats the shit of 1 million dino riding nazis.

yeah I fully agree with that, as a character he just doesn't work as a Brock replacement.
He doesn't work as an anything. The fake sea captain would be better than this. I think they should have just gone with a new character.

Don't let those two know you hate him in that role. Knowing those guys, they'd turn it into the Moppet and Hatred show. Just to piss everyone off.
I really hate Colbert's Mr. Impossible and anything to do with Triana & her bff Kim. Please, please don't let us all suffer with episodes following Kim as a super villain against Hank & Dean. We would hate that.

Oddly enough, my favorite part of the ep was Dr. Venture not being a tremendous asshole. The conversation between the Monarch and the boys was good too. Low key stuff with noisier sections around it.

The whole show is calming down. I'm not sure if that's good or not...I mean the entire mood/style of the show has changed. It's almost like a family sitcom now instead of what it used to be.
I think that is more Doc's doing than Jackson Publick's. At this point I don't think Doc cares anything about making references to things like Johnny Quest. And with Brock gone, and no enemies on the move, you pretty much have a sitcom.
the more i see of sergeant hatred the more i love him. yeah, he's not a good brock replacement but i like that the characters make jokes about it, too. + him dealing with being a pedofile brings up some pretty funny moments. + i love how he always references the guilds guide/rule book or whatever.
Liked the new ep overall, but didn't like the cheat about the ORB. I think it would have been better if he just had no idea how to activate the thing. Actually, I didn't like anything of the ending. Felt like it was full of holes and didn't resolve at that well.

The more this season goes on, the more I have to agree. He's just so different than Brock...it makes the whole show feel new.
I was kinda' cheesed at the orb. But the flashback was humorous enough that I went with it. My problem was the whole Dean coronation thing. I didn't get what was going on.

yeah, I thought the same "oh, you mother fuckers!" But you have to remember, the show is about failure and becoming disenchanted with the two previous generations.
The thing about Dean is leading up to more "fucking with the fans." They are implying that nothing in the past seasons has been what you thought. If you pay attention, they imply that either dean or the whole venture family is related to whomever started the Guild. So either Rusty's Grand Dad started it, or someone on Dean's mother's side did.
If it is that the Ventures started the guild then OSI might not be what we thought. Maybe the guild isn't as bad as we were lead to believe, and OSI isn't as good. This possibility is given even more credit considering S.P.H.I.N.X. is not as evil as we thought earlier.
Shit I don't know. But I bet a lot of shit is going to be turned on its head.
