There are two reasons. You nailed the first. Going 3-5 in conference would tarnish their already soured reputation. The second is that their bullshit TV with NBC would be gone. I just wish NBC would be gone.

You can't tell me that was a fumble though. The refs waited for ND to use their time out, THEN put the play under review to overturn a call that there was no ground to overturn. ND played like shit for 3 quarter again and deserved to lose, but at least let them play the game and get their shot. The penalties were ridiculous all game.

They got their bullshit officiating in the Washington game that made them bowl eligible. Without that horseshit, they wouldn't even get into the Toilet Bowl

Doesn't that loss make Weis' record worse than Willingham's?


Maybe there is time to rework the special ND BCS rules to allow a 4 loss team with their best win against the 5th best ACC team in a BCS bowl!
