Is it too late to be playing this online already? I went on for like half a match - everyone was lvl 30+ (a few 50s too!) and I'm just starting at 1. Who knew a few days made such a big difference.

It really don't matter if you got some skill, Hero. Get the RPD and rape heads ! Thats what I like. I like the SCAR with the Scavenger perk as well.

Anyone else got some good load-out tips ? I'm always up for hearing people's tricks !

ACR + grenade launcher + danger close + claymore + scavenger = best camping loadout ever. I pissed off everyone the first match I tried it. I barely even fired a bullet. Someone tries to sneak up behind me the claymore would blow them up. I'd run over to the dead body and grab some supplies. Thanks for the launcher and claymore ammo bitch. Repeat.

The ACR is such bullshit. I lose about 90% of the time going head to head with it. That said, I want it so bad.

I really like the FAL with ACOG. Also SCAR-H with red-dot.

EDIT: Would anyone like to play some spec ops on vet with me?

I'd say m16a4. But yeah claymores + scavenger + grenade launcher attachment = DUMB. that or a weapon with heartbeat sensor and a thumper secondary. Or hell take both grenade launcher attatchment and the thumper for more nades.

Lately I've been using a Marathon + Light + Ninja Pro or Commando Pro (for making drop ins) with dual Rangers. Single shots are easy to deliver at close range and are usually instant kills. With 4 barrels of justice. Primary is either a submachine gun for pure running speed or riotshield + Throwing Knives for dealing with people who spot you before you get close enough

m16a4 - It does kill in one burst without stopping power. If at least 2 hits sink into the torso. 3 otherwise.

Well the problem is pretty obvious there. The retard got the PS3 version.

I am loving the shit out of spec ops. Brand and I went through at least 12 on vet and rocked it. I would love IW to go the full mile and make a mini campaign, kind of like Splinter Cell 3. Don't make it quite as story driven as the single player, but tie it into the single player and have actual missions that are solely based on co-op.

Just finished it on VET, this is BY FAR the easiest COD on VET. It feels like Hardened difficulty compared to other CODs. Virtually zero frustrating moments and the checkpoints are much more frequent. The fact that you can withstand more than 2 hits, AI soldier doesn't automatically target you as soon as you pop out and friendly soldiers who can actually hit their targets, all made it a much easier (and more fun) game.

Moving onto Spec Ops on Vet. Cap, you gotta help me tomorrow

Truth. Spec Ops is the hotness on veteran. The sniping mission that we did today was a fucking blast. Having to defend the church with me up in the watchtower and you guarding the doors after we altered the entire f'in Russian army was awesome. Plus it was a throw back to what I thought was the best level in CoD4.

It might be free. IW has already talked about how they can enable new modes on the fly by just enabling the appropriate matchmaking hoppers.

That nuke one seems pretty cool. Also, we need to play more search and destroy. I doubt game modes will be pay to play. I am pretty sure they already added at least 1-2 game modes since the first day of launch. At least I think I noticed a few that were not there before.

If it is pay to play for just a couple of modes, that would be BS. If there are 4 or so maps with them, that is still BS. Modes do not offer enough to count as payed DLC.

They have too many game modes. Just trim it down and rotate them in and out of the playlists. Keep the most popular, rotate the rest. Halo sucks, but they do a pretty good job with their playlists.

Well, I'm hoping that after World at War's 3 multiplayer + 1 zombie map precedent, there'll be more than just 3 maps in MW2's packs. Be it a handful of new spec ops missions or an MW1 map remade.

The map packs should offer some decent variety over what we've got, either way. There's some interesting SP environments that are undoubtedly going to be part of 'em that won't fit the ol' "shantytown markets with narrow alleys" mold most of the maps are drawn from; The suburbs, the Capital, the Gulag, etc.

While I can't say I will outright refuse to pay for map remakes, I will say that I am strongly for map remakes to become a standard addition to all sequels. Forza 3 is the best example and Gears 2 being a slightly decent example. I refuse to believe that remaking maps is that difficult, especially if the game is running on practically the same engine.

As for the game modes, there are a good deal of trash, mainly 3rd person, and various types of TDM. I still say the Nuke mode looks pretty cool and offers a different twist to the defend vs. attacking modes.

The nuke mode looks rediculous. The amount of time needed to capture the nuke... how can even a great team hold the position for that long? Eventually someone is going to come along with a noob toob or a grenade and buh bye.

It would be nice to try private matches sometime. That is if we could get a full room, or close to full. Allows you to adjust things much more to make the game flow better. Spawn delay time, number of lives, amount of health, etc. Now you can actually use your classes and gain xp, so it is not nearly as gimped at 4 was. Also the ability to fine tune and create your own modes in a way would be really cool.

EDIT: I can confirm that you can use all your customer classes, perks, etc., however, you do not gain experience. So if you are all about gaining experience, then private is not the way to go. When you reach max level, there is nothing to worry about. I still think private offers a lot with the ability to customize the game types to feel better. Definitely should give it a try sometime.
