Yeah, it's a classic Batman line from the old school comics.

Okay, first things first, I fucking HATE how Static Shock, the shittiest, two bit, waste of a cartoon/character has been shoved down our throats in this episode. I find it insulting to see the writers place such a horrible character on the same level as some one like Batman. UGH!

Secondly, that had to be the most undignified, and unsatisfactory way to finish off Terry McGuiness. Even if this was just an alternate time line, and it may have never even occured, he deserved better.

Then there's Chronus or whatever his name was, I really didn't like this character, I think they could've portrayed the whole "power mad loser" thing in a better way. What annoyed him about him the most were his bug eyes.

I was a little dissapointed by that final showdown, the story was set up to have way more random insanity. I was expecting a lot more things to teleport in through time.

And as usual, Batman's banter was top notch, he really does carry this entire series on his shoulders.

I couldnt have put that episode any better....and static shock did really degrade that episode a little bit. he is a terrible excuse for a superhero.

I actually liked the show.

You know..static wasnt THAT bad on the show. I mean I wasnt too crazy about the character being on the show, but its not like it ruined the whole episode.

Look on the brightside....there was no hip-hop music soundtrack when he was on right?

"Yo Yo Here we go......yup-yup-yup...here we go...etc"

Wait a minute, what did Static look like in this episode? Because in the SS episode where he met his future self, the future Static was an awesome grizzled veteran type. It doesn't sound like that's what happened here.

Static was fine in the episode. He had funny quips (one about Shayera laying an egg) and a much less grating voice. I was impressed with the voice actor, who managed to deepen Static's voice but maintain its personality. It's also the same person who does John Stewert and despite being deeper Static's voice didn't sound too similar to GL's. I've never actually watched more than a few Static Shock episodes so I never developed a hate for him, just an apathy. I enjoyed the older version's apperance.

The episode ruled. The fight at the beginning was one of the best in all DCUA history. Terry was fucking drawn and quartered by the Dee Dees. Hal Jordan made a brilliant appearance. Chronos was an awesome villian with a completely unique personality. I love that Bats and GL have this new bond - they're two characters who could develope an interesting friendship. So on.

Primer for next episode, the start of season 4!

Black Canary

Black Canary was originally a Golden Age character who first appeared in Flash Comics #86 (August 1947) and was created by Robert Kanigher and Carmine Infantino. Dinah Drake was a florist who donned a black costume, a blonde wig, and fishnets and fought crime with her martial arts training. She eventually joined the JSA, became romantically involved with Johnny Thunder and Starman, and married police detective Larry Lance (becoming Dinah Drake Lance). Pre-Crisis she and her husband had a daughter with a mutant uncontrollable "sonic scream" and she was put in suspended animation. Later, Larry died saving her and the Canary apparently joined the Justice League (and went for a triple-play by becoming romantically involved with Green Arrow), but actually she died too and her daughter (memories adjusted) took her place with no one else really knowing.

That was pre-Crisis. Post-Crisis, Black Canary was still a 40's superheroine and JSA member. Her daughter Dinah took up the family tradition and helped form the Justice League. She's had a "sonic scream" on and off and has been a member of the Justice League, the modern-day Justice Society, and the "Birds of Prey" organized by Oracle. This is her first significant appearance in the WB animated universe.

Wildcat

Wildcat made his first appearance in Sensation Comics #1 (January 1942), was created by Bill Finger, and was college student Ted Grant. His father died and left him little money. Grant rescued a boxing trainer from crooks and in return the trainer prepared him to become a heavyweight boxing champ. Apparently killing his first opponent, Grant was arrested for murder, escaped, and donned a costume to track down the real killers. They confessed and Grant was cleared of all charges.

Wildcat has remained a superhero since the 1940's and a member of the Justice Society of America of long-standing. His inexplicable longevity was recently explained as his acquiring nine lives after fighting a mystic villain. He has lost several of them since then, but remains the world's greatest boxer and has trained a number of heroes, including Batman and Black Canary. This is his first significant appearance in the WB animated universe.

Roulette

Roulette and The House first appeared in JSA Secret Files #2 (Sept. 2001). Roulette ran an elaborate underground gaming arena, the House, where she pitted drugged and mentally-controlled superheroes against each other for the entertainment and gambling pleasure of super-villains. Later she kidnapped seven members of the JSA and pitted them against each other in a series of death games. They managed to escape after wrecking the House, but Roulette swore to rebuild. She later lured one incarnation of the Justice League into the new House but they also managed to escape.

Roulette has no apparent superhuman abilities but is a genius when calculating odds and gambling winnings. It has been revealed she is the granddaughter of the original Mr. Terrific, Terry Sloane - "Man of a Thousand Talents," and she may have inherited his genius. She has robot security dogs, automated security devices, and at least one metahuman on staff who can negate super-powers. This is her first appearance in the WB animated universe.

You're 'Kerazy'. It wasnt that good of a fight scene - nowhere even NEAR the best fight scene in DCAU history if you ask me.( I know, I know - "Well which ones are, Jetdork") The ones that come to mind right now - the episode with all of the Green Lanterns fighting the Manhunters in "In Blackest Night p.2". The episode with the two Justice Leagues from alternate universes fighting each other " A Better World"- with the Doomsday vs. heartless Superman fight added in for good measure, and the Secret Society versus Justice League fights in " The Secret Society". --- and that's just for starters....
, AND thats just Justice League shows not including Batman or Superman TAS.
I think you letting your love for the Dee's cloud your better judgement , and I knew you'd get a kick out of seeing Terry get worked by them.

I rewatched the ones you mentioned. They were all definitely BIGGER fights, but the storyboarding and animation weren't up to the level I thought the Jokerz fight was in TOaFT pt.2.

Other than a nice move by Superman where he plows through a line of Manhunters this was dull. Just a ton of lasers with no hand-to-hand stuff. Flash is left to run fast without ever actually doing anything.

Closer to the type of fight I like. The shot where HG is uppercut and caught by GL while Supes flies into the frame with a... large vehicle (I don't know what they're called) is excellent. And when Supes and Doomsday have their one on one you can really FEEL the hits. The cutaway to Luthor is a shame and dulls the pace. Doomsday returns this season by the way

At the start of rewatching this I was about to agree with you but it sinks in quality. Grodd mind attacking anyone is hardly visually stimulating, and the battle becomes more paired off towards the end. At the beginning there's some great storyboarding as the pairs mix and match but it tapers off. This fight was the second one you mentioned that ended in fireworks going off by the way

I need to re-DL this one, for some reason I dont have this one in my comp. I do remember being impressed by that final fight scene - maybe I was just excited that we were finally seeing an animated Corps in action fighting together. The only specific thing that cracks me up that I remember is Flash dodging a bunch of lasers and shit, and then a pebble hits him in the noggin and knocks him out. , but yeah I'll follow suit and watch it again -

Flash owning Supes with that spin move was dope, and I liked the annoying machine-gun rock throwing thing before that. Surprises? Does every good fight need a surprise? I thought the episode itself threw enough surprises at us.I was surprised by how tough the evil-alternate Leaguers were fighting. GL's evil self flew out of the cell with a fucking vengeance - blade first with no
regard toward killing "himself".And Luthor saving the day wasnt a surprise? I did think it was lame the way Luthor made a weapon that negated EVERY Leaguers power but....

This whole fight from start to finish was excellent.Especially because you just knew the Evil Leaguers werent holding back. And they still got worked. And yeah, watching Supes and Doomsday going at it was cake. The final "shockwave" punch where they both grimace at each other then cut loose was great.
I look forward to the rematch you mention. Doomsday's going to want some payback - for having supes make him "Me am Doomsday" Bizarro levels of dumb.I'm curious to see how Superman is going to beat him without cutting loose like his evil version did.

Yeah, the fight in the warehouse was slick even though the JLA lost.By the time they were fighting at the football stadium though, you are right, the quality went down a bit - but I still thought what was there was good.
hehe, fireworks, huh? I guess they did. What better way to cap off and celebrate a hell of a show.

Speaking of hellaciously good shows, I just caught the latest episode of JLU with Canary and Green Arrow. Fireworks should've been going off at the end of this one too.
Great story, great characters who all felt real and had real emotion to them. You could feel the chemistry between Arrow and Canary, and could even feel bad for the aging Ted Grant, aka Wild Cat. Almost felt like he was being neglected like Booster Gold, and an episode like this just shows how much ass he can kick and how much he has to offer the team.
And speaking of fight scenes, you gotta admit their were some good ones in this
Episodes like this make me wish for a Green Arrow solo show. He's just too damn cool for words.

Caught the Black Canary episode, I just want to say that she's hot, hot, hot throughout the show. The sparring part was great, and a couple of her fight scenes were animated very smoothly (flickers of Cowboy Bebop levels of greatness). I wish they would do this for every single episode but I know that I wouldn't be able to be patient enough between eps.

Although it was a cool episode, the whole scene where Green Arrow thinks that Black Canary and Wild Cat were an item and his subsequent "forgiving" of her seemed a little artificial. That's okay, at least JLU is attempting to add more emotion to its characters than 98% of the cartoons out there.

Awesome quote of the show: "You don't want Green Arrow, you just want green!"

Yeah, the fight scenes were detailed and surprisingly fluid. Very nicely done.

Wouldnt you forgive a hot piece of ass like that? His reaction seemed normal to me though.Even though Ted was older, he had no way of knowing they werent an item until she told him otherwise which she did followed by him "forgiving" her.

I also liked the gas arrow trick he pulled on Canary. Very sneaky, and in character for Arrow, taking business in his own hands.

Of course I would forgive her, but in terms of Green Arrow's buildup of mistrust for BC, it seemed artificial for him to completely trust her all of a sudden. He felt like he was being used for his money and being played like a harp, and I guess all it takes is for her to say she's not romantically involved with Ted for the tension to go away...

I also took it that this was the first time BC actually explained what was going on and why it was to be kept a secret from the League and so forth. So GA was happy to be let in on the secret. I agree with you though, the delivery needed some work.

Other than that... and maybe the over dramatic "death" of GA this episode was about perfect. One of my very favorites.

Next week features Mister Miracle, Big Barda and the return of the Flash after his season one noshow.

Mister Miracle

Mister Miracle first appeared in Mister Miracle Vol. 1 #1 (March-April 1971). Created by Jack Kirby as part of his Fourth World setting, Scott Free was the son of Highfather, the ruler of New Genesis. As part of a pact between New Genesis and Apokolips, Highfather and Darkseid sent each other their sons. Scott Free was raised by Granny Goodness to become a killer but met Metron and the scientist Himon, and learned enough to escape the planet and flee to Earth. There he met Thaddeus Brown, an escape artist calling himself "Mister Miracle." Scott learned everything Brown knew and when Brown was killed, put his experience to use both to take Brown's place and avenge his murder.

Scott Free became involved in the affairs of Apokolips and it was there he met his wife-to-be, Big Barda. She was a member of Darkseid's Elite Female Furies sent to Earth to recover Free, but they fell in love and were later married. Mister Miracle has since been a member of various incarnations of the Justice League and maintains a home in suburban America. He possesses superior physique due to his heritage as a New God, wields New Genesis technology such as flight discs, an omni-cube, & a Mother Box, and is a competent hand-to-hand fighter, but his primary ability as a superhero is the training that lets him bypass any lock, barrier, restraint, or security device. This is his first significant appearance in the WB animated universe.

Big Barda

Big Barda first appeared in Mister Miracle Vol. 1 #4 (Sept. 1971). Created by Jack Kirby as part of his Fourth World series, Barda was born on Apokolips and trained as a shocktrooper. Her prowess was such that she rose through the ranks and became a member of the Female Fury Battalion. She met Scott Free on Apokolips during a raid and was attracted to his free spirit. Later, when the Furies were sent to Earth to recover Free, she defected and remained with him on Earth. They were later married, and Barda has served with the Justice League on occasion. She has super-human strength and resilience, wears battle-armor, and wields the "Mega-Rod," fires energy blasts, opens teleportational "boom tubes," and allows her to fly.

In the WB animated universe, Barda first appeared 40 years in the future in Batman Beyond in the episode "The Call (1)". There it was revealed she was a member of the future Justice League and had abandoned her battle armor, although she still wields the Mega-Rod. Little was revealed of her background other then that she was related to Mister Miracle in some manner. This is her first appearance since then.

I always thought the Barda who appeared on the Batman Beyond episode was the daughter of Mr.Miracle and Big Barda.

Because that would be freaktastic if Barda found out she was related to the man she was lovers with.

Could be. Those things are just from tvtome.com and hardly official. I don't know anything about the pair so I couldn't comment. It's also unlikely we'll find out this ep anyway.

The Ties That Bind was decent. Mr. Miracle was somewhat bland which was compounded by the fact we never really got to see him at work. "Trade Secret" my behind. Barda was hot though and they made an interesting couple. Flash and J'ohn were probably the best parts being that they've lacked focus on JLU, and the conversation between Flash and Elongated man was funny.

Everything else had this strange mix of camp (the villian) and seriousness (Scott as a child getting whipped in the face). Didn't exactly flow well.

This Saturday is The Doomsday Sanction.

The Suicide Squad

The Suicide Squad was originally a special ops squad of soldiers in World War II (first appearance Brave & The Bold #25, 9/1959 - created by Robert Kanigher & Ross Andru). They had high casualties, considered expendable, and often fought among themselves. During the Korean War they were put under the command of Rick Flag Sr. and they fought against a wide of range of super-powered threats - their services required due to the relative lack of superheroes in the 50s.

Flag Sr. was killed in a mission and his son Rick was orphaned. Years later, Amanda Waller, working for the Reagan government, read about the original Squad and put together a new group (Suicide Squad Vol. 1 #1 - 5/87 - created by John Ostrander and Luke McConnell). Rick Flag Jr. led the team, which consisted of a combination of "damaged" superheroes (typically with psychological problems) and villains who were offered a pardon in return for their services. Stationed out of Belle Reve Penitentery in Louisiana, the Squad went on a number of missions until Waller abused her position and used the Squad on a personal mission. As a result, she was tried and sentenced, but after a year got a pardon of her own and reformed the Squad as a "million dollars a mission" private mercenary squad. That group eventually disbanded as well.

From the previews it looks like Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and Plastique are making an appearance.

Doomsday

Doomsday first appeared in Superman: The Man of Steel #17 and was presumably created for the purposes of killing Superman in the comics. Created by Kryptonian scientists before the destruction of their planet, he eventually made his way to Earth and "killed" Superman. He has been seemingly destroyed again and again, but has the ability to evolve to meet and defeat any threat.

In the animated universe he fought and was labotomized by the Justice Lord's Superman. The real League has never faced him.

It was alright. Kind of cool seeing an episode focused on and with Mr. Miracle in it. I agree on the "Trade Secret" bullshit. I would've liked to have seen how he got out of some of those tight spots, but I guess we are supposed to assume that he has some serious New Gods "tech" that gets him out of it, either that or some hidden power. That and he couldnt really do much else except fly around on those little discs and look cool doing it.
Big "Bertha" ( ) on the other hand was a bad bitch. I liked the auto-battle suit that forms up around her before a fight.
The League should use some of these New Gods more often in their roster. And, We havent seen Orion in a while, what the hell happened to him?

I would've liked to have seen how Flash got the three of them out of the explosion too.I know they Boom Tubed eventually, but I thought they couldnt do that in the Pits? I know Flash didnt carry them out of there......

Speaking of Flash, I was hoping we'd get an explanation of wheres he's been this whole time. Not just " Oh ,they put me on the back-burner because of my attitude", lines. I doubt the League would sideline him for such a dumb reason.
I'll bet it has more to do with the availability of Michael Rosenbaum (voice of Flash, aka Lex Luthor from Smallville).

And a movie. That's basically it. Never bothered me like it did some people. I was more than happy with the "back-burner" quips as justification.

As for Doomsday Sanction, I was incorrect about the Suicide Squad appearing - they'll show up in a later episode. Not that that's important. What is important:

I think JLU is the best show on television. The nads on this thing are fucking huge. This is a plot that's been growing for YEARS. I actually sat and thought about which side I agreed with at the episodes end. And despite watching these characters for years and loving them since I was a kid, the government has a good fucking point. This season has really become proud to be a superhero show about superheroes and it works. I got chills on several occasions. Bruce vs. Clark was a crazy exchange. I can't wait to see if they manage to keep up this pace.

Son-of-a-bitch.

I cant find a torrent for this latest 'Doomsday' episode anywhere.

Thank you power company, for allowing sporadic power outages that negate whatever programming my VCR has in for set times.

Thank You, Cartoon Network for showing one of the best shows in your line-up ONCE a week. You know because Dexter's Lab, or Tiny Toons or whatever the hell shows which come on 4 times a day are more worthier of that honor.

Alright, I just watched it,and it was the right one. [Doofus points +1 for me]

Standard awesome episode. This season is on a roll (and we get another Green Arrow,Canary, + Huntress ep. next week -- Woot!)

I liked Batman surprising Waller in the beginning. I just knew he wasnt going to take that shit from the Ultimen episode lying down.It was cool to see on how many levels he had tapped into her headquarters - through her presidential line, and being able to sneak in to her living quarters.Towards the end though it seemed like he may be leaning more towards her point of view (and I'm not sure if I understand the ominous ending with Bruce watching Luthor on the TV - are they going to team up against the League?)
I'm surprised that Luthor is actually running for Prez in the animated DCU. He ran for Prez in the comic books because as far as I know he was smart enough not to be connected to any crimes in that same Universe. In the DCU though he's been to prison, and reaked havoc in his super suit, etc.

Doomsday's fight with Superman was good, but it just seemed more hard hitting, and intense when he fought the Justice Lords.I liked his voice better in this one though - sounded a lot less human. And I didnt really like how relatively easy Doomsday gave up the fight. So he got punched into a volcano - so fucking what? He fought Superman inside that thing for half of the episode. Why would it all of a sudden be able to weaken and encase him? And why the fuck was Bats' bitching about sending Doomsday to the Phantom Zone? What are they supposed to do with him? Invite him over to Wayne Manor for tea and scrumpets? A lot of questions....

Another thing - I recognized Hugo Strange, but who was the purple haired chick on Waller's team ( I assume she was talking about the armor from the Hawk and Dove episode?)

And she to his. Or at least the part about how nuklear missles shouldn't be fired at islands.

So did Bush, and he got elected.

OK maybe Bush didn't reak havoc in his super suit . I just pretend Luthor's using all his billions to convince America en masse. Not like we're all that hard to persuade.

Agreed on the fight. It and the rest of the storyboarding/animation were insanely weak this episode. Good thing the story ruled. Oh and Doomsday was thrown into the volcano as it erupted. I guess that would hurt more. Honestly if Wonder Woman hadn't nabbed Supes I got the impression he would have been down too.

Now I want scrumpets. Without knowing what they actually are ironically. He was mad because they decided what to do with them without a governing party. It'd be like cops also getting to decide who was guilty and how they should be punished. Too much power.

She's new to the animated universe, and yes it would assume so. Milo was also in Batman: TAS.

You know, one other thing that I always assumed when the JLU series started, was that the League WAS being funded by the governments of earth. After the disaster with the Thanagarians I just figured that the governments must have pooled their resources, funded a new HQ for the League, and given them mechanics, technicians, doctors,so they can best protect the earth when the need arises. These Waller episodes proved that wrong, I guess. So the question is - Who is funding all of the tech, the crews, and all of the bases that orbit the earth if the government isnt? I doubt Bruce Wayne is THAT rich.

I know that the wrriters had to have a way at wrapping that fight up, but I still think they could have done a better job of it.I mean a volcano.....knocks out the being that can kill a Superman....?
And yeah, I agree on the animation of the fight - maybe thats why it just didnt seem as intense?

Well, honestly, sombody had to do it. And after the incident on the island. I'm thinking the League didnt have a whole lot of trust in the govt.Speaking of Doomsday, I'm not sure if I like this revised origin, of the American government creating him.During the Justice Lords episode he wasnt really going after Superman, and he didnt mention how badly he wanted to murder him.He seemed more like a conqueror of planets than a govt. experiment and was just out to tear shit up, by his lines in the episode.Unless Milo was lying to Doomsday about his origin.

You know the more I think about this episode the more, I realize how many plot holes it has and like it a whole lot less.....

Yeah, but I wonder who she is in the DC Comic verse - she just doesnt look familiar at all,and her name Tala doesnt ring a bell so she may be new to both..And I thought Milo did look familiar, I just couldnt think of which Batman episode he showed up in.

Maybe that's why he was so keen on getting fellow billionare Green Arrow to join the League.

Tala

The woman on the Cadmus council first appeared in the comics in Phantom Stranger vol. 2 #4 (Nov. 1969), and was created by Robert Kanigher and Neal Adams. She has been described as a demoness, a Queen of Hell, and a powerful sorceress. She is a primary opponent of the Phantom Stranger, a mystic wanderer and sometime-League member, and occasionally takes on other heroes of the DC universe. Her powers are great and mystically oriented, and primarily concerned with casting spells and mystic blasts. This is her first appearance in Justice League Unlimited, and her origin here may be substantially different as the comic book version wouldn't be very interest in a government conspiracy.

Dr. Milo

Dr. Achilles Milo first appeared in the comics in Detective Comics #247 (Sept. 1957). A renowned chemist who turned to crime, Milo used a variety of chemical- and medical-related schemes to get at Batman. He was later exposed to chemicals that drove him insane and spent some time in Arkham. Batman consulted him on at least one occasion when he needed chemical expertise.

In the WB animated universe, Milo was introduced in Batman: The Animated Series, in the episode "Cat Scratch Fever." Little was revealed of his origin but his basic profession of chemical and genetic tampering was the same. He appeared in one other episode, and this is his first appearance in Justice League Unlimited.

Awesome. So she does have a background. Maybe good 'ole Stranger himelf will pop in for a show or two.Him or Spectre need to be in the spotlight for an episode - they're overdue.

Awesome. I'm playing catch-up today and trying to DL some of these. Just saw the Suicide Squad episode and thought it was pretty cool.I liked the different perspective of this one from the villians' standpoint. Seemed like they COULD have put some different criminals on the team though. I mean Plastique and Boomerang? They did what they set out to accomplish though, blindsided the League, pissed off Jonn, and got away with some serious weaponry.Goes to show that with a little bit of planning and subterfuge, Batman-style, any villian can be a threat.
Another thing, why was Jonn trying to plug that lowly worker for info?Couldnt he have just tried to read the injured Plastiques mind?Unless that blast killed her.

And just saw the next episode 'The Balance' too.It sucked. Way to ruin a good trump card Waller had against the League. The animation sucked, and the story blew (well with the exception of the revelation about Diana's dad - but too little too late).I mean what was Faust thinking? With all of those arcane powers, lets just send these Leaguers to the one person who can help them to defeat him. And what were these "new" special powers Diana was supposed to have? Wasnt she always able to use her lasso to get others to tell the truth?Another thing this ep. brought to mind, I've always hated to see Sheyira/Hawkgirl fly/float without moving her wings-what good are they if she doesnt use them - would if break the animation budget that badly to make those things move a bit.
Hopefully this episode was just the one bad apple of the bunch.

Eh, not ahead of me.

Honestly though I wish I had the will power to avoid the Canadian downloads. They're full screen and fairly crappy looking. Not to mention the timing issues the one episode had.

And yeah, Jetman, "The Balance" is easily the worst episode this season.

75 cents is 75 cents. I'm supposed to throw away good money?

I just tape it, but their refusal to re-air is annoying.

Although I like the shows to varying degrees the Teen Titans/The Batman/JLU block makes for a decent tape.

I just watched the Captain Marvel episode - "Clash", and it was 'Holy-Shit' levels of awesome.I cant believe how much of a dick Superman was in this episode.Somewhere back in the Season 2 of the Justice League ( I want to say it was during that Braniac/Darkseid ep - God, I'm such a DC geek), he started to get a lot more harsher and rough around the edges, and you really see that in this episode.Especially, when compared with the better boyscout that is Marvel. Seems like Superman was just hating on the kid from the start because he was so damn powerful. And ,geez, as soon as Superman bitch slapped the kid through the statue, I knew it was on.That was probably one of the coolest "superfights" I've seen since the Justice Lords vs.Doomsday and the League episode. I know Billy Batson aka Marvel is just a kid and is just probably learning the ropes, but Superman should know better than cutting loose like that.If that would have been the middle of Metropolis or there were people in those "Lex-ghetto skyscapers" the two were knocking over ,there'd have been a lot of dead people about.I like the way Marvel almost had Supes on the ropes with the lightning bolt thing - Supes being weak to magic and all, Marvel probably could've taken him, if not for Supes' little lucky break. And Superman trying to explain to the press afterwards "The Justice League will pay for all of the damages" -< looks at Bruce Wayne> -- Bruce Wayne = "fuck"

I liked Marvel's, upbeat, eager attitude. It was fun to watch him really digging on being a superhero.I liked the mention at the round table of Flash's underarm deodorant endorsement escapade and his reaction . And Lex and Waller getting the upperhand and playing Superman like that was good stuff. Especially since it caused Marvel to quit the League.

But,yeah, great episode. It's one's like these that make you wonder why Cartoon Network just sits on these shows and does nothing with them.

- Temptation is a bitch. And I'm tired of seeing Cartoon Network's suits not give this show the respect or airtime it deserves.I'll still try to catch these on Saturday night - even though I work most of the time - to support it.

Found Question Authority.

It's... interesting.

At some point I'll go through all the episoded I listed two posts up with opinions and info and shizzle. I think pretty much from this point on all the episodes are going to be "to be continued." So don't expect any resolution watching Question Authority.

Post your thoughts NOW,Mash . Just spoiler tag it for all of the non-tech savy, unfortunate people out there.

DL'ing ' Question Authority' now so I'll probably rant about it tomorrow,

I'll say.

So the Luthor presidency thing is a ploy? I assume he's just a puppet for Waller and crew. And his newfound powers were a surprise (I guess he's like a Smallville "Freak of the Week"), as was Question's readiness to kill him to save the world, and Superman. And how did Cadmus even get video of an event that happened in the past of an alternate universe (Superman killing Luthor)?

Good cliffhanger too. I'm surprised that Captain Atom is such a good troop, and doesnt 'Question Authority' when it comes to a fellow teammates' torture at the hands of the government.Speaking of Question, he's not faceless in the comic book, so I'm surprised they play him out this way in the show. The 'faceless mask' is just that, a mask with a normal man behind it, but I guess the show's writers want to keep his mysterious quality intact by making him a faceless freak or something - it just makes Huntress look really odd to be making out with him

Speaking of Huntress, I'm glad to see her rebellious attitude, and carefree attitude to killing made the crossover to the show.It was cool seeing her and Supes team-up, but I'm waiting on the inevitable Batman partnership to really stir the pot.Or a Nightwing appearance (which would be seriously awesome - along with an older Teen Titans team appearance - I know like that would ever happen, it would be great though)

One thing I'm unsure of, as there is little backstory or anything involving it - but is Lois Lane aware at this point that Clark Kent is Superman in the show? The way they talk it's as if she does.

But, yeah, this was a good one. I like the continuing storyline going on this season. It gives the show a good sense of continuity and cohesiveness missing in a lot of animated shows.

After Legacy, Clark Kent doesnt exist anymore...he seems to be Superman full time.

Is it me, do they draw superman bulkier and bulkier with each season....

I guess that could be the problem then.He needs to be Clark a bit more to mellow out and not be so damn angsty it would seem.

I noticed it too during that Clash episode particularly when he was talking down to Marvel and leaning over the round table (he looked a little too big in that shot), and he looked ripped in the arms when catching the plane at the beginning of that same episode.

Do you also notice that the Justice League does more damage to the city of metropolis than any other place on the planet?...

They also seem to do more damage than the Godzilla or the Power Rangers (back in the day). Never seem to run out of skyscrapers...ah well.

There was a little JLU article in TV Guide.
Quote:
Hollywood's recent love affair with comic books has not been very kind for the ladies. For every successful screen adaptation of a male character - like "Spider-Man", "Blade" and Smallville - there are female vehicles turned into train wrecks, like the campy "Catwoman", the dour "Elektra" and WB's cliche filled series Birds of Prey.

But don't write off the sisterhood yet. This (next) week two Birds of Prey characters, Huntess and Black Canary headline an exceptional episode of Cartoon Network's superhero cavalcade Justice League Unlimited. The script is by Gail Simone, who writes DC Comics' popular "Birds of Prey" series, and presents the pair as strong, smart, sexy- and even a bit flawed. JLU producer Bruce Timm says that three-dimensional portrayals - even in a 2-D format - are essential. "You want to be PC, but not too PC," he says. "They can have feet of clay, just like the guys."

Started drinking early and forgot to tape JLU last night but at least it was just "The Balance" which sucked anyway. Still bummed I missed the wide screen airing.

Task Force X
I loved this ep. The jazzy heist film aura and the shifted perspective really make for a unique experience. The action was insane (the director of this one - Joaquim Dos Santos - does all of JLU's best action scenes), the pacing was fun, and the bad guys are all personable enough so that it's a kick to root for them throughout the show.

Although there's plenty of BS&P moments this one gets away with a ton too. And sort of like how a network show doesn't have to do as much as an HBO show to be called "daring" this ep crams in a lot for a "kids show." Plastique seeming genuinely aroused by the fact Deadshot's a murderer specifically struck me. Then of course their flirting made the ending and his willingness to so quickly sacrifice her. Good stuff.

Quote:
Another thing, why was Jonn trying to plug that lowly worker for info? Couldnt he have just tried to read the injured Plastiques mind? Unless that blast killed her.
I assume it did. When I was doing some "research" on the Squad it seemed like the first mission always meant losing a member. Plus early interviews with the scriptor had him saying that not everyone survived. Again it'd be nice if the shows creators could get away with whatever they wanted but they get damn pretty close to killing her right on screen.

The Balance
So after the excellent set up caper of the previous outing comes this clunker which really manages to throw off the otherwise excellently paced continuity this season has kept going. Really bad animation and a story centered around the least interesting League member at a time when she couldn't be less important to the overarching drama. Bleh. A couple moments made me laugh (in a good way I mean ) but overall the only thing this adds to the season is the fate of the Annilator and since it just gets stolen from the last week's Force... boring and a waste of potential.

Fun Casting Facts: Nightmare on Elm Street's Robert Englund (Freddy) plays Felix Faust and Seinfeld's Wayne Knight (Newman) plays the demon Abnegazar.
