The actual score for the individual songs isn't kept... besides for most Beatmania charts, the only score of importance is the EX, which is easy enough to figure out in cases where it isn't given.

All right, I obviously have to go back and play more Expert courses on this

[ex course #/ title, EX score; note breakdown]
01 Heaven - 2937; 1090-757-392-16-32
02 Fly High - 3745; 1472-801-437-35-69
03 Regular - 4100; 1557-986-662-64-154
04 New Wave - 637; 201-235-317-66-135
07 Trance - 4484; 1751-982-687-32-117
10 good-cool - 3198; 1259-680-243-13-25

oh and I don't think they keep track of 5 key scores...
also we need to make some original EX courses (based off of the 5th roster) so that some people that only have 3rd or 6th Style can submit something.

3rd Style to 5th Custom Course-
01. Make Your Move
02. .59
03. Leading Cyber
04. Presto
05. era (notsalmix)

6th Style to 5th Custom Course-
01. Outer Wall
02. The Shining Polaris
03. Tablets
04. Absolute
05. Sync

Thanks for the help, dog$... Those scores are for single songs on Expert, correct?

I won't be of much help with the 6th and 3rd Style stuff for now...

I was thinking about what would work best with IIDX rankings, and I came up with this idea:

1) Expert Course Ranking
-Ranking of the in-game expert mode that Konami uses in their own Internet Ranking.
2) Song of the Week Ranking
-Individual song ranking. Since there are so many songs in 5th Style, maybe one a week would be better?
3) Original Expert Course Ranking
-Participants may create courses and one for ranking will be selected weekly/biweekly/whatever.

Just a few ideas; what do you guys think?

Scores coming soon...

I'm on it. Or, I will be, once I unlock Original Expert.

I recieved the IIDX 6th today and will get the controller tommorow. Never before have I seen a game so unplayable without its own controller.

Then again, couldn't we just combine 5th and 6th to make "The Beatmania IIDX Thread"? How many people here are stuck with IIDX 3rd?

A one-thread concept would probably be the most feasible.

C_S you can access the scores under the "Records" section of the main menu, and those scores I gave were cumulative for the entire Expert course, not just one song.

I included 3rd support for Sidez. Takumi and Capt. Veg have 6th (at least), and I think hayato42 has at least 4th. Sl1p, Nortune, and I should have everything.

Sorry... I'm still a tad bit confused, apparently... So what exactly is your final score, dog$? I think I am missing something...

nortune - I like the Song of the Week idea. We'll all have to set something up soon like that.

You had it right, man. The 4 digit number -is- the EX score, all those other things are the breakdown of how many Just Greats-Greats-Good-Bad-Poor were tallied for the play. It's the same information that's presented when you look through the high score listings on the machine. Just remember that an EX (Expert) course is a set grouping of (at least) 5 songs.

Oh if we do expand this to a "all IIDX thread" we'll need to indicate the style our score comes from for reference.

04 New Wave - 4166; 1555-1056-972-128-260
06 Naoki - 3598; 1374-850-595-41-105

Ah, ok... I got that part... But is there no final score? Do all the individual EX scores add up to get one final score? Or are the individual EX scores for each song all that matter... And if so, how do we rank scores? I hope I didn't lose you there...

OK I see where there's some confusion now ^^

All right.

Basically, what I was submitting scores here for was what Nortune suggested as Idea #1 above. Look at any Konami Internet Ranking page for any arcade or consumer IIDX, and you'll notice that the most common item used for ranking are "Expert Courses".

Beatmania IIDX Expert Courses are a set of 5 pre-assigned songs, under a short name to identify the basis behind the grouping ie by composer, genre, difficulty, or BPM (rapid, hell, TaQ, trance, flower). In the game you can press the select button on Expert Course selection to see which songs are in the group. Here you can see that I ranked #85 over all for Double play Heaven course, for example.
(Cheat Sheet 1 / Cheat Sheet 2)

So go ahead and slap the scores up. And yes Nortune shown me up good.

Thanks for sorting that...

Don't expect any scores other than some Light7s from me for now, I'd say... It will take a long time before I hit Expert, I presume.

It depends on which style your using. If your using 5th I believe you need to get a combo of 573 or higher in a single song on arcade mode (doesn't work in free or expert i'm pretty sure)

Tain: unlike other releases, IIDX6 has a really convenient way of All Unlock (from Gfaqs)

Play Light 7 or Normal Arcade mode and play the following stages in this order: Yesterday, A New Morning, Night of Fire. You can use continues, but you have to clear these stages in this order. If you get Extra stage, you can choose any song but you have to clear it(continues allowed). Then enter your high score name as ''2DX6'' and watch the whole ending(DO NOT SKIP THE ENDING). After the ending is done, ''COMPLETE'' should appear on the menu screen. If you are having trouble getting onto the high scores, reset the scores and do this. All tatsujiin movies, gallery pictures, expert courses, songs, and the Original Expert Course mode will be unlocked.

I didn't do this (since you can eventually unlock everything just by playing Arcade Mode games enough), but it supposedly works.

Oh.. Heh. How about that. GFaqs has info on the game. Sorry.

So, I have to pass Yesterday, A New Morning, and Night of Fire, eh? Looks like I'll be incredibly busy, considering that I have yet to pass a 7 key song...

When they say that it's nothing like the PC sims, they mean it. I knew that this game was difficult and all, but damn.

My PS2 is at home but I will be bringing it to my room (along with my stick and IIDX controller) once i've finished Zelda and Metroid Prime (that way the Gamecube can be packed away and forgotten about for another year). I hope to contribute with my scores during february

*Clears throat*

Ohhhhhh shitttttttt... =D

I don't have access to home versions, but I'll try and do a crap load of courses this weekend at someones house. Or I'll just pick a course and set the 8th Style machine's original course to that. I haven't been playing much recently so this is good incentive to get going again =D

If I propose any songs, they will probably be too easy for you all. I've barely touched 7Keys, after all.

well we could just choose a song, have scores for light 7, 7 key and another (if there is one).

Easy songs can still be hard to score on. its nearly impossible to get all flashing greats. and theres some songs inparticular that can just be a bitch.

Still My Words
Flash Of Love
Outer Wall
Spin The Disc

Moderate difficulty and pretty varied.

Shit! Methinks I'm going blind.

Some questions: I finally bothered to go through 5Keys yesterday and after completing one run, it said something like New Mode Get! or something like that. But nothing really new opened up. Am I missing something?

What are the requirements for unlocking extras? Is it time-based? And how do I unearth these Another songs?

The only things that really open up on 5th Style are Survival and Original Course, so it might have been one of those. The requirements for unlocking extras involve some sort of combo number to hit or games completed (ie playing standard 5/7 key Arcade Mode games). To access Another versions of songs, you just have to press Select at the song selection and choose it from the menu. Not all songs have Another versions.

Reminds me... I forgot to update my lousy Sanctus score...

EXSCORE: 252; 79,94,50,0,0

A new song sounds fine with me... I can move the Sanctus scores to the bottom if anyone thinks of an appropriate new song...

*Tries to think of 5th Style songs that can also be played on 8th Style*

uhhhhhhhh....

Still My Words isn't too bad. It'll teach you how to do short scaling. Outer Wall is a good 6 Star to teach you how to pinky scratch.

Umm..is Voltage on 5th Style? If not, theres always Radical Faith. The another for that is actually easier =X

So, it's been a month now. My rightmost key is kinda pounded in (sticks every once in a long while), thanks to some friends. :/ After at least an hour per day, I can pass a little over half of 6th Style's 7 key light... I'll have to agree with Click_Stick. This game scares me.

Anyway, I'd love to see this be a universal IIDX thread, although I guess that that'd be a bit much. Should I bother making a IIDX 6th thread?

Edit: IIDX 6th thread made.

Oh, and I'd like Outer Wall, for the next featured song.

Quote:
6th Style to 5th Custom Course-
01. Outer Wall
02. The Shining Polaris
03. Tablets
04. Absolute
05. Sync
If this is ever going to be used, here's my Light7 score: 1351; 477-397-546-65-58

this may seem like a stupid question, but would you guys accept scores if I made them via the iidx emulator? (for courses and ranking songs)
