You might have to wait till Episode 3.

hey... it doesn't have center around Chaos for his story to still be told... if I have to wait for 3 to find out even a little about his past I'm gonna be pissed...
I dunno, I see it like this: if this shit is true, they're gonna use Episodes 1 and 2 to tell Jr. and Co.'s story, and maybe Episode 3 and 4 will be about chaos, and if we get to 5 and 6...well, who knows what that'll be about.
But that seems to be how they're setting things up. If the story isn't focusing on chaos, I doubt we're really gonna learn anything significant about him.

Since Ep 1 specifically mentions that Jin will be one of the stars, and the above statement doesn't mention anything about him, I think we can safely discard that statement entirely.
=_= Shion? Oh man... I don't know if i can deal with her again. Maybe they're just lying and they'll kill off all of the characters except Ziggy and Hammer in the first cinema.
Considering that the series is supposed to tell a story that spans millennia upon millennia, I find it odd that anybody from the first game would return.

That's the Xenogears side of things man, not Xenosaga. I get the feeling they'll be much more contained than Gears' universe was.
I haven't played Episode 1 yet, but I heard it was full of cliches and nothing truly unique. Where do you guys stand? I loved Xenogears and it's probably one of my favorite RPGs of all time.

No there weren't really that many cliches, no boy gets the girl sub romance plot (well... uhm), no saving the world (shit uh),ok, maybe it did have some cliches, but there was still alot of originality in the story, lots of originality. It touched on some cool subjects and the story telling was awesome. As far as the battle system and Item/Leveling systems goes, the game is well above par.

I find myself utterly unenthused about this news. I think Xenosaga did me in.
Same. After about 10 hours, hearing the same speech after every single attack and multiple lame scenes with Chaos, I had to pack it in and trade that sucker for Wind Waker. A shame too, because I was so ready to be really into it. It just wasn't fun. I would have liked it better if it were just a movie.

Same here! 10 hours and I was going insane, but I will give it another chance once I finish Wind Waker.
I ditched Xenosaga after 10-12 hours to get into Wind Waker too. I just recently got back into it, and it looks like that stretch is the only boring part of the game - I've been hooked on it since I started back up and I think I'm pretty close to the end now. You should give it another shot soon.

Damn, you too? You should think about picking it up again. I think it can be found for $20 now.

They're actually releasing Xenosaga as a dvd in Japan, similar to the way Shenmue was released in movie form. Just hope for a US release.

There was nothing cliched about Xenosaga. Unless saving the world from the hands of your generic bad guy is a breath of fresh air to you.
Strider: seeing as how much you seemed to enjoy the plot of Xenogears, it's ashame you gave up on this. The expansion of the Gears universe and all the tie-ins are really awesome. You should definitely give it another shot.
