I included it so everyone won't think I'm trying to rip everything form the site and just post it in here, claiming all the glory and popularity points.
Newgronds is a flash only archive site that allows upcoming and seasoned vets of Flash animation the flex thier stuff with videos and games to a world wide audience.
Some use it as an artistic medium to express touching and stand out movies.
A few more use it to build ever running series and episodes.
Even more create spoofs, and pariodes of there favortie films and games.
Others...,well, want to kill cerliberties.(and who could blame 'em)
This thread was created to show the premium, most impressive flash that have collected so much attention and fame. It's not meant to 'pimp', or merely a means to air something that you found only amusing because of shock vaule.
It's here to showcase movies that hold some sort of veiw worty grade of qualtiy and sencerity. Something that's entertaining, yes, but compelling and noteworthy as well. I don't want to kill (sp)Britney Spears.
...Not now, anyway.
Newgrounds is effien' huge. So huge, that it can be a tedious task wading though the best and the worst in search of some thing standout. That's is way I felt a thread like this was in order, to hightlight the cream o' the crop, and make for easier viewing, enjoyment, and commentary. In other words, I hold all the posters here in a high(very high) enough regard to give insightful feedback on someone else's sweat and toll. Please don't disappoint me.
I think I've babbled enough, so here's some submissions that I'll link to for now...
Bitey of Brackenwood=file size: Large
This one is right of the front page. I checked out this guy's site and saw that he is a member of Disney's Special Effects Team! And I'll be damned if it dosen't show. This is the movie that inspired me to make this thread. His Hitchchicker series is notable, too. When the page loads after clicking the link, scroll down. You'll see the 'Other submissions by ___' bar. Click that to veiw(U geussed it) other submissions. All of his stuff is worth your time.
...The above is basically how I hope all the links that will be posted are formatted. Just give a small impression. No spoilers. That'll do it, methinks.
Xiao Xiao 3 Size: Medium
I'm sure this is old news, as to everyone's seen it. But anyone who hasn't scoped this out yet, go.
Now. Flash combat at it's best.
Madness Series (all are Medium)
I'm fairly new to it, myself. But I could see it having a strong following. This is very dark, demented stuff. Quite funny, too. Madness Combat: The first, and the least best of the series. But it get's better... Madness Combat 2 Madness Combat 3
These are much better.
If sure this is the epitome of a 'too much fuckin' time on my hands' theard, but I could see some positive things in the furture. And once again, this is for the sheer enjoyment of all the members here. And if you have a link(and I encourage them), be warned. I don't know what these folks will like one way or the other, so Post at your own risk.
Hope you have fun.
Next up: Matrix parodies! (good ones. I swear )
*Note: Some quick rules. 1st Edit:Games are o.k... for now... No links that are overly sexual.
And with that being said, No hentai...*blushes*
Look for the rules to be revised in the future.
Update: *5/15/04*
Yeah, I really should have made this before. I really wasn't thinking of the folks without high speed connection, so swimming through this thread can be a task in itself. So here's a guide that could make the enjoyment of the thread more tolerable.
File size guide:
Small= 1 to 999Kb
Medium= 1,000 to 2,500Kb
Large= 2,501 and up
Hopefully these labels well make it easier for viewing. If anyone has a better means of labeling, please post it.
That scene where Brock is fighting the cowboy with the flamethrower on the back of a dinosaur and tosses a ninja into the dino's gaping maw was fantastic.
I haven't been to newgrounds in ages. My interest just waned completely, I used to check it out daily too. And I was one of the few (or many I don't know) people who enjoyed the Clock Crew's antics (if they're stll around).
Anyway, here's one of the best flash animations that I can remember:
That scene where Brock is fighting the cowboy with the flamethrower on the back of a dinosaur and tosses a ninja into the dino's gaping maw was fantastic.
Wish I could go through all of them and leave an impression for each, but each one carries it's own hidden beauty that make them a joy to watch.
Beautiful and lovely. Very subtile and quite. But great, none the less.

Like I said,..
Matrix Paroidies!111(Good ones. Honest)
Super Mario Reloaded :Large
The guy used the ENTIRE fight sequence with the Smiths in Reloaded and built a sprite flash around it. Impressive. Sort of large, though. But it's worth it.
“The Matrix Has You” is the result of 6 different artist and months of hard work and planning in what is one of the biggest Flash collaboration on Newgrounds. Each artist brings their unique style to each of the collection’s movies. There’s a little something for everyone here.
“There is no Spoon” (Metal Maverick), “Zion Rave” (Luke de Ayora), and The Architect (Chris Boe) are comedy based shorts. “Chateau” (Super Flash Bros) and “Burly Brawl” (John and Richie) are action based. And Finally, we have “Final Fight” (Legendary Frog)... a animated criticism for the 3rd Matrix Film. Each short runs about 2-4 minutes.
I hope you all enjoy this collection. Everyone gave 100% to make it the best it can be. Expect more collections like this in the future... “The Matrix Still Has You” is already in early production! Oh, and this movie contains SPOILERS!
Legendary Frog was the lead collaborator for this project. Think of it as an 'Animatrix' remix.
I'll go ahead a admit that the first and third movies are really under-whelming. A very poor job. But the rest is gold. No lie.

Well, guess it's time to come back for my hiatus. Sorry I couldn't keep a better uptake on the theard. (I was hoping it would live on even minus my input; there's great stuff here.) Maybe putting a comment or two would keep it alive. Just if you have time, of couse.
Windows Noises :Small
Right off the front page.
A song built entirely of those noises that 'Windows' makes.
Reminds me of the days where I would stay sealed indoors, tweaking and perfecting my little songs made on my PS1 Mtv Music Generator.
But I wouldn't dare call this amateur work.
It's really fun and a good listen. I like how it takes time to evolve the beat, making it an easy relisten.
Even though it's unrelated to newgrounds, here's another little gimmick that the artist cooked up.
Broken Saints Eps. (all are Large)
Broken Saints was mentioned earlier in the theard. And as luck may have it, several of their episodes are on newgrounds!
But it's not the entire series. You'll find the link to their original web page(and the complete series) somewhere on the link.. Or even better, in FirstBlood's sig. The first ep. is 17 min. long. Just a warning.
Thanks to FirstBlood, I checked out only the first three eps. I was very entertained, and should have time to crash back to the site for the others.
The structure of the story looks very indepth. You have to be onboard from the start to get the most satisfaction, though. But, enough from me. You can be your own judge.
Happy veiwing, guys.
quicknote: I don't know why you folks are pretending that that Madness Interactive game is a cakewalk. I thought I'd hear a coupla cries in agony or something.
That scene where Brock is fighting the cowboy with the flamethrower on the back of a dinosaur and tosses a ninja into the dino's gaping maw was fantastic.
I didn't think I would find it in newgrounds. Thanks.
The Wrong Vagina :Small
This is a movie about turmoils of Valentines Day. A few naugty words are thrown about in it, so you've been warned.
Nice little comedy.
That scene where Brock is fighting the cowboy with the flamethrower on the back of a dinosaur and tosses a ninja into the dino's gaping maw was fantastic.
A pariody of a parody.
An 'All your Base' movie with some STFU love.
I'll admit, it's really not the best(some of the stfu's get a bit lame near the end), but Josh's own stfu is the first stfu on the flash (from what I've heard at least..)
To describe it is pointless. It's just best to take in all the raunchy-ness() you can handle, and hope that your sanity stays intack.
This is too good for me. I can't stand it. (I don't know if the beauty of this series is common knowlegde to all of you... but I guess I'll find out)
All the episodes are gold in there own right; pure, unbridled gold(yet eps.1 through 4 are some how similar, but in that 'can't put your finger on it' sort of way) but every thing that eps. 5 contains and stands for wanted me to throw myself down a flight of concrete stairs. But ep. 4 is:
One of the Greatest Things Ever Placed on the Internet
It's good for you.
(but, check the 'Author comments' to get all of the info)
*Warning: All Movies are highly adult. But they're all cartoons, so it's okay Retarded Animal Babies 1:Small
I can't gush enough over this. And check the status; I'm not gushy.(..well, just a touch)
I'm sure you've gotten annoyed by this so do yourself a favor and complete your day. Watch these from start to finish.
If you were wanting for something to comment on, this would be it.
That scene where Brock is fighting the cowboy with the flamethrower on the back of a dinosaur and tosses a ninja into the dino's gaping maw was fantastic.
Eh, I'm not a huge fan of retarded animal babies. They were good at first, but got old fast. Now, if you wanna talk flash animations involving animals, you can't go wrong with the Happy Tree Friends. That shit is so voilent almost to the point of excess.
I see.
Oh, well. It was nice to find something so entertaining in the dead of night.
It really made me laugh.
edit: For the record, the violents and the super explict nature of the show isn't what drew me to its charm. The best factor about RAB is how well executed all the jokes are, both verbal and visual.
...I was going to make a clever remake about how good Dave's sense of comedic timing was, but I've gushed enough.
That scene where Brock is fighting the cowboy with the flamethrower on the back of a dinosaur and tosses a ninja into the dino's gaping maw was fantastic.
I was bored, so I fished around the front page tonight and this is what I found.
This movie is very well directed, much like Bitey of Brackenwood. Yet the emotion is much more tonic and subdude. It's also great. Even though it sets a simple tempo, it's thrilling to watch.
I'm in love with it, aparently.
That scene where Brock is fighting the cowboy with the flamethrower on the back of a dinosaur and tosses a ninja into the dino's gaping maw was fantastic.
So yeah, I had figured you guys were growing tired of this thread, so I was slowly going to let it pass.
But, ya see, each time I walk into Newgrounds, something totally out of the blue catches my intrerest. And I think of how worthy it would be of your attention. I sort of over did it in the past, so I aplogize for that. This movie is small and fairly short(about 2 min.) and I loved it by first glance.
