It's a little dive hamburger joint in Hackensack, at the end of what Paramus Road turns into..I forget the name of the street but it's in the links above.
Anyway it's shaped like a little burger, it makes burgers a little bigger than
White Castle burgers, and they pour on onions and pickles (if you want them) and they're generally delicoius and kick the CRAP out of white castle.
They grill 'em right in front of you..or I shouldn't say grill since the surface is flat like a big skillet.
I still think it's a dollar per cheeseburger.
I took Click_Stick here before the N64/stopped talking to me deal, but I don't remember if he was keen on them or not.
I've got the hankering for this. At least 6 burgers coming right up tonight.

Haven't heard of it. I'll check it out next weekend. I enjoy road trips to burger places I haven't tried, and I've hit a bunch of stops on that Holly Eats website.

I went there on... 12/21 or so. It was the fucking bomb. White Castle but good.
It doesnt compare to In and Out but pretty fucking good for the east coast stuff.
I mentioned it to raz0r in #TNL yesterday. He never heard of it. Yet he lives in Jersey City. What an asshat.

This is a good reminder. I've wanted to go there for years. Considering after Thursday I'll be in NE PA for an indeterminate amount of time, I might make it over for some burgers... hell if I know what else I'd do in NJ to make the trip worthwhile, though.
This place reminds me of Doumar's Cones & Barbecue in Norfolk, which has the certified first ice cream cone machine, and the debated home of the first ice cream cone. It's a sort of divey almost 80 year old drive-in that has fucking kick ass burgers, lime-aid and ice cream cones.
If anyone is ever in Norfolk/VA Beach area--Go there.
I went to a few In n Outs while I was in California and ordered a variety of menu items.
Its just another fast food joint.
Variety? In n Out's menu consists of Hamburgers, Cheeseburgers, French Fries, and drink. There is really very little variety at In n Out. You sure you had the right place?
I'm pretty sure I'll never have a fast-food burger better than In n Out. Its just not possible.
I feel bad for the Easter Coasters.
I've never eaten at In n Out, but I feel bad for people on the west coast for never experiencing Five Guys burgers. A lot of people on the east coast still don't know them either... their loss. I'll be enjoying the one in Scranton this week when I'm home.
I dunno, I'm not big on fast food but I like a nice burger and buffalo wings here and there. I dine at a lot of pretentious restaurants. Some are great but not all are worth the price.
You don't have to eat at some expensive restaurant to enjoy awesome food.
I'll give you Burger King or McDonalds, they suck and nobody can really defend it. But Five Guys is genuinely awesome. Everything is fresh, and really, it's probably the best fast food could be. Of course, they're not all that fast comparatively, because they cook everything to order. Still, I wouldn't even put them in the same category.
There's plenty of great food here in Boston, and most of it is quite affordable, but that doesn't mean I still can't enjoy a pile of grease every now and then.
Here in Detroit we have this small joint that makes burgers that are way tastier than White Castles called Telway. I haven't eaten there since I ate 20 burgers in one sitting, probably and that's been about 5 years ago. I do have an interesting story... That place is near were alot of hookers walk around and my friend took me there during the day. I sit at the counter on a stool and there was a woman wearing a hot pink coat that was next to me. Fucking old ass toothless hooker was like "Don't worry I won't bite." I was just like don't get your hooker germs on my burger!

Eagle's Deli in Chestnut Hill outside Boston > everything in this thread.
They're in Brighton. About a 10 minute walk from the apartment I'm moving into in September. But if you ate there more than once every two months or so, you'd probably die. Of a meat blockage. Somewhere.

Weird. Until I read this thread I didn't realize I don't have a great burger joint around here. Pizza, wings, barbecue (two of 'em), pub chow, and all sorts of Asian from cheap crap to authentic, no problem. A good place for burgers, though? No joy.
The one thing I miss from my short stay in California is In N Out. They only do one thing but they do it great.
James: I feel your pain. Lots of burgers around here, and some are decent, but there aren't any REALLY good burger places around here.
I have heard of a legendary burger place that is about an hour from here. They seem to be great because the meat is REALLY fresh. The "back yard" of the restaurant is a grazing field for cattle.
