It looks like Earthbound 3 is going to be a Game Boy Advance title.
The latest issue of Nintendo Dream reports that Earthbound 3 (aka Mother 3) is not a Nintendo DS game, as previously rumored. Rather, Earthbound 3 will be a Game Boy Advance game.
There are no plans to release Earthbound 3 outside of Japan at this time.
i never played Earthbound but I have heard great things about it. Anyone here waiting for a U.S release?

I don't believe that. Nintendo has to prove to people the SP is still worth owning and adding a big fan favorite like this would help.

Very disappointing, but I don't remember there being an Earthbound 2, so I guess I'm out of the loop anyway.

exactly right.
mother 1 was an nes game and an english version was actually finished by nintendo.. never relased, though. a prototype rom is floating around by the name of earthbound zero.

They'll sit there and I'll kill them. That would be a dumb move for them, being as it would end their lives, but that's all they know how to do is make bad decisions.
