Beggars can't be choosers. Would I love another 2D, hand-drawn Darkstalkers game? Of course, just like everyone wanted SF4 to be 2D also. But SF4 proved that there's no fucking way we'll ever see another 2D fighter out of Capcom, so at this point I'll take my Darkstalkers however I can get it.
If it sucks, it sucks. At least I still have my Saturn and Vampire Savior.

I think (and hope) we'll come back around to getting high-quality 2D games once the 3D bar hits the ceiling. SF3 had to be much, much cheaper to produce than say, Lost Planet, and as the budgets on the A+ 3D games goes up, so does the risk. I think 2D could see a resurgance sometime soon, maybe the generation after this one, thanks to DL content growing in popularity.
There might be more sitting on Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD's success or failure than anybody is saying yet.
Um, what the fuck do you care? You wouldn't play them anyways because they're "kiddy" way to backpedal on your (retarded in the first place) stance. I don't know who's joke account you are, but you're well played.
because I wasted my money on a damn Wii and rented Mario Galaxy to see what all the damn hype was. I got 93 stars in and realized that I didnt really like the game.
So basically you're saying your whole kiddy thing was a mute point, as it should be. If you determine something as kiddy after playing through the whole game you're an idiot. If a game is fun, it's a good game, regardless of the games market crowd. Obviously Mario Galaxy wasn't a fun game for you, therefore you have some form of right to call it a bad game. Just call it that, throw out the "I'm too old" for this sort of mentality and just judge a game based on how much you enjoy it.
I see what people see in Galaxy, I just didnt like it. The whole storybook thing that the queen would read to you was rediculously kiddy and the way the powerups were used was stupid. Galaxy was a good game, that I just didnt like personally. Kids games can be great, but most don't appeal to me.
Sadly, I think sprites are a lost cause. But on the other hand, to be honest cel-shading has produced better results anyway. Look at the new Naruto project or Tales of Vesperia, and tell me when we ever got a 2D game that looked that close to actual animated film? In fact, if anything they could look better since they can run at 60 fps.
I don't know why Capcom didn't go that route, since they could have produced a game that looked exactly like SF: The Animated Movie, kept everybody happy and looked damn impressive at the same time. But I guess they wanted to separate themselves from the glut of DBZ fighters and create a new style of 2D/3D hybrid look that was more obviously 3 dimension to the casuals.

Once people realize that colour film is just a gimmick they'll all go back to making movies in black and white. just u wait
lols. And you're probably right, sadly. 2D is dead on consoles.
Maybe SF4 could have done something about that, but alas.
We can only hope for some 2D nostalgia boom at some point, but I wouldn't count on it.

I'm really holding out for the "photo-real-mega-budget" movement to top out at some point, and the rise of mid-level developers with high-res 2D games. They might be download-only, but I think the industry is moving in that direction anyway. More Cave Story/Flow type stuff, less Madden/Crysis.
Maybe too late for Capcom, though. SF4 is going to swim like a lead brick when it comes out.
I've changed my mind about Korian. Anyone that can piss off so many people so easily is awesome. You people are suckers, playing right into his evil yellow hands.
Street Fighter IV 'Gameplay System'. Video 4 out of 5. Only thing new I got out of that was that there was an very early build with parries before they scrapped that for the saving system.

I could never figure out how the hell to play 2010 properly.
The correct way to play SF 2010 is to take it out of your NES, grab some gasoline, pour it all over the cartridge and then ignite it. While it burned and melted you should then piss all over it but not enough to put the flames out.
