Super Robot Wars Alpha!
Anyone ever play this game or see the anime (if there is an anime...I assumed there was)?
If so, would you mind posting impressions? Make them as short or as long as you'd like.
Thanks.
Anyone? I prefer not to charge blindly into it...but I will if\'n I have to.
bobb! You work for a gaming importer...any word? At all?

Super robot wars alpha is ubertastic.i am not familiar with te story as i don't speak japanese.but the gameplay is and the novalty of it is cool.it plays out like your basic stratagy game(tactics),but there are a lot of different variabls to think about.of wich i have no idea cus its all in japanese.
but the coolest part of SRWA...is all the friggin mech in the game.from veritechs, getter robo, giant robo, gundams,MANZAGER Z!!!!!,AND it has all the OG music from each series, with pilot head shot animation for the dialog.the effects are really cool.when you do an attack a cool little video is played, either its just a more detailed animation of your robot doing there attack like Manzingers Chest Beam.To longer more drematic attacks likes Deathscyths Hell special beam scyth attack(its really cool, the screen goes dark, you see a shot of the moon, than Death Scyth appears as a shadow spreads his wings and strikes).
there are somany mech in this games its crazy.from damn near EVERY GUNDAM,to shit i never seen before.shit only thing i didn't see was Voltron.i was so wishing this game came to USA but no luck.if you can get it and you can understand it....DO IT!!!!

P.S. What the Hell is Mazanger Z? Got a pic? Or a link I could follow?
And you were talking about the DC SRWA, right?

Ahh Super Robot Wars, what a grand series.
I've played Super Roobot Wars F on saturn and Super Robot Wars 64 on N64, both are solid titles, but I prefer the Saturn one because of the music and the feel, the N64 one is just as solid, but the sound isnt as great.
Oh, and Maginer Z is a cool guy, hes all black I think and had this really odd looking head and shoots his forearms off at the enemy.

of your robot doing there attack like Manzingers Chest Beam.

Mazinger Z's "chest beam" is called the Breast Fire. this is important.

its not from an anime.` Consider it a Super Robot anime all star collection. I love this series so much. especially the levels where you're getting beat down maybe, and all of a sudden a new mecha from a different anime shows up with his theme song playing comes in to save you, or the little re-enactments, like the CHANGE GETTAAA!!!! construction animation.
a new mecha series that was created by Banpresto for the super robot wars(Masou Kishin Psybuster), and there was an anime of that that came out recently in japan. recently= a few years back. Also, certain series are added to, such as creating the MazinKaizer as the next mecha in the Mazinger Z line(Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, MazinKaizer)
Also, the people that did many opening songs for old super robot series(Mizuki Ichiro, MIO, more) came back to record original tracks for the games. Toki wo koe(time to come?) is my favorite theme song from any game, and its much better with the vocals. . and and. . .
anyways, as far as tactics go, line up your gundams and real robots far away from your targets, and use your super robots in close with their powered attacks + the 100% hit magic.

Er...that quote about an anime was actually meant for One Piece...but no one replied to my One Piece thread.
So, I figured the text was generic enough for me to swap the title out for "Super Robot Wars Alpha!" I know SRWA is an amalgum of very many different animes...so I prolly should have read my post more carefully and adjusted accordingly.
Thanks a lot for the imps! I'll be picking this and KoF 2000 up on Wednesday

Yeah, SRWA rocks. I've always been a big fan of the SRW series... I really need to pick up the new SRWR. BTW it looks to me like you'll be getting it on Monday to me.

Doesn't UPS ship on Saturdays?
If It ships on Thursday, and it's 2nd Day, I should have it in...oops! Four days. Not three.
But you know more about this than me. If it's Monday, then I'll find something to do on the weekend to keep my mind off of my incoming package...so as not to suffer from excitement enduced shock, due to anticipation.

Nope, UPS only does Saturday on Next Day Saturday orders, which they then charge up the ass for. You know you could just next day them for only $20 more.
