In our last two installments (Part I, Part II) we took a look back at some classic moments in adventure gaming, and looked forward at the next generation. To wrap things up, The Next Level speaks with a few key players in adventure gaming's past and present.
It seems like there really isn't a lot of agreement. Some think the market has changed, some feel it was companies that changed, and still others think the whole shift was a big misunderstanding. Even those who lived through these changes first hand can't seem to agree on much of what transpire, but finally companies are at least starting to raise these questions, and eventually they will reinforce the historic trend or shatter whatever misconceptions there might be. Whatever the result the faithful should hope to be rewarded as the trickle of promising new adventures continues to work its way onto store shelves.
