It's crunch time for the crew here at GotNext, as we prepare for the advent of another rush of retail game releases. I am glad to see that others are in agreement that the industry should seriously look into spreading out all their key releases sooner than the holiday season. I mean, there's only so much one can do when writing isn't a full-time career.
The other day, I actually managed to get my review of Namco Museum: Battle Collection up. On deck for this week: Need for Speed: Most Wanted and 007: From Russia With Love -- two games I've been eagerly looking forward to playing. After that, it's off to Gripshift, a game that I've got mixed feelings about -- you'll hear more about that soon enough. Then the month will be wrapped up with a mix of UMD and game coverage: Street Fighter: Generations, the sequel to the Street Fighter Alpha anime and those family-friendly games discussed in the last "Got Game?" Yep...I've got my work cut out for me.
In other news, I've been giving a lot of thought of launching a new quickies review section, which would prove particularly helpful during these crazed times when we're swamped with coverage deadlines. Those of you who've ever picked up an issue of EGM or Game Informer issue will especiall know where we're coming from. I am not quite sold on going through with it yet, but stayed tuned...we're always coming out with some new surprises.
I gotta roll -- work shift begins within 12 hours and ideal customer service is only capable with a good night's rest.
