I am Yu Jin, a man of some means and some ambition. When the world was changed by Zhang Jiao and his Yellow Turban Rebellion, I saw an opportunity. So I performed a few simple jobs for the peasants, locating a wayward blacksmith, dragging an ungrateful son back home...They tried to argue the issue, but they were just commoners, and no match for my debating skills. They soon saw the error of their ways, and word of my fame began to spread. I happily applied for a position in Zhang Bao's court, only to be rejected.

So I was left to ponder my fate. As every man knows, the only place suited for deep pondering is a tavern, and there's no point in pondering alone. I quickly struck up an acquaintanceship with a Yellow Turban officer, and as we idly spoke of local matters, a plan began to form in my mind. I could use my deft social skills to befriend these good men, earn their loyalty, and build my own army that will make this lord rue the day he...

But wait, what is this? A messenger has from Zhang Bao has sought me out, with the humble request that I join his court to aid in the protection of this city I call home. Obviously, one of the officers I had spoken with earlier had taken my plight to heart, and put in a good word for me. Now the lord has reconsidered. Graciously, I accept his offer and swear loyalty to him...for the time being.

First meeting with my new master, my golden road to fame and fortune. I don't mind admitting that I was just a little nervous. The power at his command is almost tangible in the air around him, in the arrogant expression on his noble face. He asks me quite simply what I think needs to be done to improve our city's defenses and increase its prosperity. Yet I've already looked beyond our boarders, and in my travels paid special attention to our neighbor Chen Liu to the south -- one that doesn't yet fly our flag.

The lord is gracious and grants his approval, so I leave at once to spy on a potential conquest. However, word of my recent elevated position must have already spread because the gates once freely open are shut to me now. The guard implies that with the exchange of coins I could be granted admittance, but I can not bear such an insult, and challenge him to a duel. The commoner proves no match for the sureness of my blade.

Word of my forced entry is sure to catch up with me, but for the moment I am free to move about the city. I discover a number of resources that would be of great benefit to the Yellow Turbans, most of all the officers that linger here with their talents wasted on this doomed empire. So I make sure to strike up a few friendships before completing my survey and departing for home, slipping away unnoticed.
