The B-Side: I Mean it this Time Edition

Jimminy Christmas, is it 2006 already? You know, one of these days I'm going to find out where to direct the message to and find out why we're six years out from the year 2000, and still don't have my meals-in-a-pill, personal jetpacks and cool looking hover-cars. Am I the only one who's a little pissed about the empty promises of the next century?

However, on the bright side, there is one next century -- or should I say next generation? -- promise that we will see come to fruition in 2006; the advancement of video games, not only in terms of realism, but also changes in the way we play them. With the 360 already on the track and the PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Revolution bringing up the rear, this year is going to be one of the most intense in video game history. I think it might even give the Nintendo/Sega rivalry of the old days a run for its money. It's a three-way battle and nobody is going to be taking this fight lying down.

But I'm not here to get into a deep, analytical rant about who's going to succeed or fail, and why. I'm here to usher in 2006 with a brand new edition of the B-Side, because I know that those of you in my circle of friends who frequent my page are starving for more of my editorial stylings. And believe me, I do sincerely apologize for lapsing on my promise to deliver a fresh edition every week. The middle to end of November began the holiday season, and all sorts of obligations tha kept me quite busy and unable to keep up the pace I had set. The good news is the new year is always quiet so you can expect to see my baby make a comeback, and with any amount of luck, continue without a hitch.
