We recently had a chance to sit down and enjoy the remarkable double CD set featuring select tracks from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, which officially went on sale on November 23.
Fans can enjoy an dynamic array of music from the 1990's West Coast era including a range of tracks reaching from modern and classic hip-hop, techno, funk, R&B, alternative, classic rock, soul, reggae and country. Even if you haven't had a chance to experience the latest installment in the GTA series, the set is still an awesome selection for music aficionados. Among my personal favorites in the set include Public Enemy, Rage Against the Machine, Rick James, Guy and Cypress Hill.

The GTA: San Andreas soundtrack also includes a bonus scene dubbed "The Introduction", offering fans a glimpse into the individual stories that are woven together to create the epic storyline of the game.
Obviously, since the soundtrack isn't available yet in store (Rockstar vowed to kick our ass if we did), so we can't reveal any major spoilers. However, they were courteous enough to provide some appetizing details, including a few screenshots and a trailer for you to check out...
Highlighting the action in the days before the game begins, "The Introduction" is told from various characters' viewpoints intertwined together to reveal the network of organized crime forces operating throughout the State of San Andreas. Through an intricate series of scenes, the introduction exposes the magnitude of the corruption within the LSPD, spearheaded by Officer Tenpenny and sheds further light on the history of the Grove Street Family conflicts, the problems that Ryder, Smoke, and Sweet face and the rift that has come between Sweet and his younger brother, CJ (Carl Johnson), who fled town and now spends his time carjacking and mugging the residents of Liberty City. Crime is rife throughout the state of San Andreas and organized crime has many diverse factions and figureheads. In Las Venturas, Liberty City mob boss Salvatore Leone installs a recently drug rehabilitated Ken Rosenberg as his puppet front man at the mob owned casino, Caligula's Palace setting the scene for inevitable confrontation. Tension builds throughout The Introduction as threats are carried out, stakes are raised and communication breaks down. In Los Santos a drive-by shooting in Grove Street Family's territory, ignites a series of events to be further explored in the game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
