Some weeks the intro just writes itself, other weeks it doesn't. This would be the latter. Monkeys, thugs, and baseball this week segue into the Winter Olympics and a spiffier version of Devil May Cry 3. Still, it's not bad for January.
Week of January 16 - January 21
Wednesday, January 18
25 to Life (PS2, Xbox, PC)
Cops & Robbers, urban gangster style.
Ape Escape 3 (PS2)
Catch monkeys!
Ape Escape Academy (PSP)
Train monkeys! (Through mini-games, of course.)
Thursday, January 19
MVP 06 NCAA Baseball (PS2, Xbox)
The first baseball game of the year, and the first college-exclusive baseball game.
Samurai Showdown V (Xbox)
2D weapon-based SNK fighting goodness.
Week of January 23 - January 28
Tuesday, January 24
True Swing Golf (DS)
Nintendo does Mario-free golf.
Wednesday, January 25
Torino 2006 (PS2, Xbox)
Though not apparent from the title, it's a Winter Olympics game with 15 events.
Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition (PS2)
Like DMC3 but with a new playable character and a difficulty level playable by mere mortals.
World War II Combat: Road to Berlin (Xbox)
WWII FPS. On the plus side, it doesn't make you storm Normandy Beach again.
Greg Hastings Tournament Paintbal Max'd (GBA, DS)
Probably a handheld version of the Xbox game, but there's not a bit of info on this version to be found anywhere.
