So what kind of week did we just go through? One which delivered Oblivion, a game specifically designed to eliminate sleep for all who play. Sure, there was also The Godfather, a new portable Katamari, and all sorts of quirky and creative smaller titles, but Oblivion steamrolled them all.

Next week continues the RPG onslaught with Kingdom Hearts 2, destined to sell a few million by Christmas and get a bright red Greatest Hits stripe across the top this time next year. The 360 gets its busiest week since launch, with four titles in one week. Finally, Beatmania makes its first landing in the US, bringing yet another new controller to toss onto the pile of bongos, guitars, and taiko drums that make music gaming so fun.
