Though often over-shadowed by the consoles, the PC has been getting an excellent gaming workout the last few weeks. Guild Wars is the big ticket item, drawing huge numbers of MMORPG fans into its web, but smaller stuff like Empire Earth II, or PC versions of console games like Psychonauts, have been giving the old workhorse a good gaming life as well. If you've made the investment in a decent rig then there's a nice amount of stuff to play, and even lesser machines (like mine) can run Trackmania Sunrise with good results.

Marketing oddities for the week are how both Forza Motorsport and Enthusia, covering the exact same ground in the racing genre, are coming out on the same day, and Pokemon Emerald being street-dated for Sunday. Somebody, somewhere knows the valid reasons behind brilliant moves like these, but they aren't talking.
