Flash Point is a prototype for the unreleased Odyssey3 Command Center. Inspired by classic arcade games like Robotron, the game requires the player to use two joysticks at once – one to move your tank and the other to fire. Magnavox had planned to develop a dual-joystick holder for the Command Center but that, like everything else related to the Odyssey3, never saw the light of day.
A working Flash Point prototype surfaced in 2000, allowing the ROM image to be archived. Fortunately the game was able to run (with some graphical glitches) on European Videopac+ machines. After tweaking the ROM to work properly in PAL mode, reproduction Flash Point cartridges were released in 2004.
