The Basics: Created by Traveller's Tales, Super Monkey Ball Adventure takes the franchise in a bold new direction set in a peristent world filled with puzzles and quests spread throughout.

The story: on Jungle Island Aiai meets Princess Deedee of Monkitropolis and Prince Abeabe of Kongri-la, star-crossed lovers whose marriage is hampered by a feud that exists between their respective kingdoms. The Monkey Ball world is plagued by misunderstanding and suspicion, which has led to the rise of The Naysayers, gloomy creatures who are sucking the joy from the Monkey World.

Aiai is asked to reconcile the feuding Monkey Kingdoms and to do this he must travel to all five Monkey realms, helping people and defeating Naysayers in an effort to spread joy and remove prejudice and fear.

Super Monkey Ball Adventure will combine classic gameplay elements in conjunction with a new chant system which empowers the Ball with 10 new abilities (i.e. chant, sticky, speed, hover, etc.) The PSP mode will utilize exclusive features such as game sharing, allowing players to enjoy wireless multiplayer games via one UMD disc. The PSP version will also an exclusive trading card game and offer secrets of the Super Monkey Ball back-story.

What we think: Super Monkey Ball Adventure shows a lot of promise to be a hit with its dedicated fanbase and Traveller's Tales has certainly done their homework to ensure this project retains much of the classic flair.
