Majesco revealed the first screenshots and details to the upcoming PSP installment, Advent Shadow, developed by the creators of the Advent Trilogy.

The game chronicles chronicles the gripping story of Marin Steel, a mercenary pilot thrust into a saga of intergalactic proportions. In the midst of extracting herself from a hostile negotiation, Marin is interrupted by a planetary invasion led by monstrous aliens bent on human genocide. In her efforts to escape the dying world, she encounters young Gideon Wyeth, the unlikely protagonist of Advent Rising, and together they find themselves swept up in a massive struggle against dire forces bent on the destruction of humanity.

Players can expect the game to offer a "cinematic experience that embodies the Advent Trilogy," according to Ken Gold, vice president of Marketing for Majesco. “We believe Advent Shadow being one of the first offerings for the PSP system gives us an advantage to succeed and grow with the platform.”

No gameplay details have been revealed at this time, but according to the announcement, the developers have opted to use the handheld installment as a unique opportunity to create a unique experience to further Marin's character. Although based in the same universe, Advent Shadow will remain completely seperate from the Advent Trilogy. Donald Mustard, creator of the Advent Trilogy explains, "We’ve utilized the same themes and elements to expand upon some of the sub-plots of the trilogy and added compelling new game play to create a truly unique handheld experience.”

For now, we can only present the following two screenshots embedded in the article. We look forward to upcoming updates and will keep you posted as new details become available.
