Hip-hop artist 50 Cent is gearing up to make a splash in the video game industry as Vivendi Universal Games announced an upcoming title slated for release later this year. Entitled 50 Cent: Bulletproof, the rap celeb will offer his distinctive likeness and voice talents to the game.
50 is confident that his first video game title is all that and a bag of chips, stating that he's out to "destroy the competition." Designed as a fantasy version of his lifestyle, 50 predicts that [Bulletproof] will shake up the video game world just as he's done in the rap music industry. "I'm pulling no punches with my game."
In Bulletproof, players assume the role of 50 Cent's character who gets caught in a web of corruption, double-crosses and shady deals that lead him on a bloody path through New York's drug underworld. Working with the unlikeliest of allies, the streets heat up as 50 Cent takes on the most dangerous crime families in the city, uncovering an international conspiracy with devastating implications. The streets are watching as 50 Cent blasts his way to the truth.
Bulletproof has picked up some Hollywood talent to spice up the production including Sopranos executive producer and Emmy-Award winner Terry winter who inked the game's script and 50's upcoming flick, Get Rich or Die Tryin'.
It's too early to predict whether or not video game players will lose their mind and be drooling all over 50's first gaming production. Stay tuned for upcoming E3 impressions.
