The Basics: Marvel's demonic hero is riding yet again onto Xbox, PS2 and PSP in the all-new adventure game Ghost Rider set to launch the summer of 2006 concurrently with the release of the major Hollywood motion picture.
Though it promises to offer deep combo-based combat and lighting-fast motorcycle action, the real highlight here is the story, penned by renowned comic writers Garth Ennis and Jimmy Palmiotti.
What do we think? This is really a toss up. Licensed games are often risky ventures, though there are many exceptions to the rule. Ghost Rider is indeed an awesome comic character, so if the game is able to capture the dark yet often humorous atmosphere of the comic book, then we may have a 3D action game along the vein of Devil May Cry with an even more accomplished story.
The most promising aspect of this whole venture is that both Ennis and Palmiotti are handling the game script, which may result in a deeper than usual game experience.
