Here's the greatest RPG to be released in 2007, winner of numerous and well deserved accolades, packed with so much bonus content it actually takes an effort to lift the box. Seriously, it's heavy. This weight isn't due to useless bobbles like cat helmets either, but a complete guide to the game, an excerpt from "Lost Wish" by Adrzej Sapkowski (creator of The Witcher series), a big map of the game world, a bonus disc of extra game content, a thorough making of DVD, a CD of the game's subtle and soaring soundtrack, and a second CD of music inspired by the game. That's a lot of delicious icing on this RPG cake.
If you enjoy RPGs with a rich fantasy setting, The Witcher should already be on your shelf.

For those who have already experienced The Witcher, the improvements to the core gameplay are even sweeter. The fact that you can loot corpses without ever going through inventory menus is a godsend, and goes along with the other changes and tweaks to leave nothing that interferes with experiencing this dark world. I've already written extensively of these changes in my preview, but suffice to say if you've already completed The Witcher, its worth it at least to head to the game's official site and snag these free updates.
If you don't feel like going through the main game again, the two new adventures will hold your interest. One has you raising cash for the sake of a minstrel friend convicted of a crime he certainly committed as a bit of non-linear fun. The other has you deciding the ultimate fate of a 'cursed' princess in a miniature epic, complete with terrible battles to be fought and harsh choices to be made in a world without a clear line between good and evil. This are complete adventures with full voice acting, but they can also be loaded up into the game's new adventure editor as examples when constructing epics of your own. The editor itself is complex, but that's mainly due to the amount of freedom it gives you to tell your own dark stories.
For those who haven't taken the plunge, read on.
