Video Games

The going rate seems to be $2500 for the course. Now I just need to figure out how soon I can start. It seems that my mind is pretty well made up about this. I had a phone call from my Mom today about people she's spoken with and about how I might be able to have a job where she worked (then went into detail about how the place "sucks you in and you never feel like you can leave and you get worked" and so on; it was a really effective sell), and all the while I realize that her proposal ...

One course is up for four weeks and $2500. Another I'll need to call. The ducks are lining up. Every day is pain for her, still. Still. That hasn't changed. I need to do this in case all else continues to fail as it has failed for so long now.

In the meantime I have the rest of the tax code to finish up as well as see about doing these applications for some video game journalist job links. See, I mentioned a while ago that my wife's friend's son wants to become a game journalist, ...

26 USC §433 requires me to add a new 188 lines worth of content to the tax code page. The subject is minimum funding standards about pension plans, so there's a lot of dense content per item which means that a lot of it is going to be left on the cutting floor when I'm done with it. This is going to take a while.

What I actually should be doing before getting back into writing more ES roughs is to get the tax code page up to date, as I mentioned before. I looked at the classification tables a few days ago and didn't find too many individual sections which needed revision, but of course that doesn't inform me of exactly how much needs to be changed. But, still, I should do that first.

Besides, there might be a lot more time for the former in the future regardless. She goes back to work tomorrow ...

Still no IRS acknowledgement and the weekend is here. Individual tax season is done. I've been thinking about resuming it, so let's go.

Yes I did have to call the IRS today for them to give me my Software ID number, as I had no response in the mail. Just before writing this, I finished sending off the revised submissions to include the SID which I received. I didn't receive any acknowledgement for any of them, and I had given plenty of time for at least the first of them to come back as I saw my wife to bed after sending that one in and before getting the rest submitted. If I can't get any kind of resolution on how to get this issue ...

I didn't get to exercise until 3AM yesterday thanks to having other things to do when I woke up. Doing that then going to bed only to wake up and do another hour today was ... nothing particularly special at all actually. I will say, I should have checked the questionnaire that the IRS sent me yesterday before going to bed, as it didn't have a Software ID provided on it, which means that I'll need to await for it to come back in a new response or call for one tomorrow.

I signed up at one of those survey sites recently, figuring that it would give me something to do while I sit here during idle moments instead of endlessly poking message boards. A female coworker who's younger than me told me that she was into games like Call of Duty and Smash Brothers, and for some reason I have taken this as an opportunity to show off bits and pieces of my collection and my IIDX table and the like. I'm curious what her response will be. The main reason that I'm bringing this up here is because I have found myself having no issue in revealing all of this at the drop of a hat without any real fear of negative repercussions.
