Mission complete. Today marks the second time that I have passed all tests necessary to acquire a CDL. The morning routine at the DMV includes turning on the radio over the speakers within the facility, and it's tuned to the local oldies rock station. Before leaving from the facility area for the morning's practice, I watched a person perform the skills test to see it conducted by an actual examiner. He wasn't allowed to complete the final phase before he was failed out, or at least I assume that he had failed out because he had accumulated enough points beforehand to demand that he completed the last maneuver with zero penalty points, and I saw the driver shake his head ...

Managed to squeeze it all in. Two spins in the morning followed by a full day of work. I need to take these last few days to assuredly do the test as close to proper as possible to ensure it's all wrote when the time counts. In the meantime, this just means I have to get to bed pretty much immediately.

I think I'll resume the reading of the Civil War newspaper reprints from the books that I have. I need to get into a habit of being willing to pick up a book to read it even if it's only for less than an hour or even a scant fifteen minutes.

It's time to buy a new set of ankle weights, as I've managed to wear through the bottom of the set and have sand starting to leak everywhere, yet again. At least this pair lasted longer than a week as it did on the treadmill.

I did manage to get the sound functional on my machine, thanks to the "sfc" command which I never had a reason to use until now. The resultant log file that came weighed in at 2MB. There was a lot of work that needed to be done, I guess.

I was the first to arrive to the location for making another test run with the vehicle today. He was 30 minutes late for his scheduled arrival. I only managed to get one turn. It was better this time, at least. I think a few more tries should be enough to get me comfortable to pass.

There's a page on the IRS website for corrections to test scenarios. The page I found for the Form 1120 series listed fixes for the first 3 of the 7 tests. Numbers 1 and 3 were already indicated as Good ...

No songs yesterday because by the time I came home from a visit to the parents, it was already past 9, and I had to be up at 430 this morning to make my trip. My wife joined me. So about that IRS response. Recall that I submitted a second batch of test returns, as is the usual procedure for testing; if you need to correct one, they want all returns resubmitted. I finally get to opening the document and come to discover that some of the notes refer to the second submissions, and a few other reported errors were still reported with the accompanying first submission ID. I think I might need a new set of sunglasses in the near future, and good quality ones at that. In respect of the classes I've been taking lately, the volume of traffic found on the commute as well as it occurring in the daytime is contributing to my feeling completely fully drained by the time I get home. This is not going to be acceptable if my near future plays out as I am intending.

First day of observation. I was later told that the sparse population was due to it "being a Friday" which I guess means that other days were busier, but what I did see didn't leave a very favorable impression. Instructors were on the field sporadically at best, and there was only one person assigned per machine, which means that when that person wanted to assess how they were performing the various tests, they'd have to come to a complete stop, walk over to the location, and see the result. ...

My wife's graphics card decided to die today. Looks like something of a minor birthday present for her has come early. The extra stop on the way home from school cost me $240 and an extra hour of commute time. I bought a bag of Skittles for something to nibble in the middle of the expected solid traffic, which was very much there, and I think doing that right before dinner seems to be what is agitating me now.
