  1. LB log - 2017 Week 44

How about you don't do that anymore, huh? It's not worth it. You were ready to kill it all off just a few days ago, remember? How about you remember that and let it go.

It was nice to be able to hand out candy again this year. I should have known to stay out just a bit longer until the sun was fully down, but at least I was out there for most of it.

Going to the arcade that day proved to be a somewhat poor decision yet again. At lesat I've avoided it on other such occasions. ...

  2. LB log - 2017 Week 43

Two days of home song sessions lost due to the visit. For whatever reason, my body decided that it didn't want to sleep on Saturday and be relentlessly itchy until I decided to lay on the floor and directly in front of the box fan. Somehow I managed to get enough sleep to make it through the day with only feeling slightly exhausted and sluggish. Despite limited exposure he still did his best to do things for no other purpose than to aggravate me. I left him alone before and after. I didn't try to ...

  3. LB log - 2017 Week 42

    Guess who's back.

This week's haul. $240 to have the car towed from the arcade to the shop, after it wouldn't start, even with a jump. $120 for a new car battery. This sequence of events put a large damper on the time off for the week. Look forward to next week's haul when I get the final amount on some dentistry work which a family member is scheduled to receive. I also obtained two arcade Tsum straps, because I felt like I could afford wasting that kind of money on something so ...

  4. LB log - 2017 Week 41

At least this time I've remembered to do the brunt of this work now rather than try to squeeze it in later.

Her car has returned. They repaired it for less than they had originally estimated, and in the process of doing so they had the car thoroughly cleaned out in preparation for its intended sale. The offer was made for me to pay the repair and retain ownership, and I accepted the offer. It seems like it will be some time before I find a good deal on a car.

    After ...

  5. LB log - 2017 Week 40

    Any old time would do.

It was a long day today and I've had more nagging pains lately, yesterday in the testicles and today in the lower back. Some not-aspirin definitely helped today.

This week's haul: $900 in car repairs for the lone remaining vehicle in our possession. I don't know why the issue at hand wasn't noticed on the last time I had brought it in, particularly since the last repair was for a drive shaft. Oh well. It does feel better to drive now, at least ...

  6. LB log - 2017 Week 39

No noose is good news. That is unless you're looking for me to write something interesting here. Joke's on you.

Oh yeah. Apparently the previous entry Week 37 got marked as private somehow. I don't understand why and I think I'd have to fully delete and repost the entry to change it, so I won't, because who cares.

I've already cut back on my sweeps, but I think I need to go further now. I've had my fun. Today was just another coincidence, and soon they will not be ignored. ...

  7. LB log - 2017 Week 38

There are many reasons for which I really do wish I would have stayed away and on my own path once I left. Already at this point I've grown to truly appreciate the good health that I have and the free time that I have. Playing Dragon Quest 11 right now is making me realize that unless other things in my life drastically change, I'll never have time for this kind of game ever again in my life. I just have too many other things which I really need to get done to justify the hours that I'm putting ...

  8. LB log - 2017 Week 36

    She started school.

I'm expecting to see an additional $195 later today. I hope it's there. It's bad enough that my materials were rifled through on my days off. I can assume it was to look for the cards which I did accidentally keep, but it's still a little strange for that to have happened and then the shank flathead to be gone.

An extra day off came and went and I don't have much in the way of anything to show for it other than having more time logged in Dragon Quest ...

  9. LB log - 2017 Week 35

North Korea firing a missile into Japan's air space is an act of war, isn't it? Shouldn't there have been some kind of massive global reaction to this event? I'm just baffled as to how this transpired and the resultant reactions and responses have basically been no different than any other time before.

Well, in other news of less import.

I was set to meet a person to purchase a car, but on the morning of the meeting I called it off. The offer was for a car with 160000 ...

  10. LB log - 2017 Week 34

Note to self. Next time you suspect of some kind of traffic incident like that, continue north to the next major intersection and go from there. I did not need to spend 50 minutes at that intersection today.

With no other obligations pending on the days off, I indulged in playing a video game for a fair amount of time in the previous break. I have 11 hours logged on Dragon Quest 11, and that's with minimal downtime of me walking away to tend to something while letting it idle. I've ...

  11. LB log - 2017 Week 33

Her car needs a repair which is going to be either $800 or $1100. I think this puts us in the market for another car to be purchased and to cycle her current one out.

Houseflies. Every year it's a problem. This year it hasn't been so bad overall, but this past week it's become like it gets at least once per year where I have to kill a dozen after they've accumulated while I'm asleep or at work. I really wish I could get to the root of the problem on this.

    Songs are ...

  12. LB log - 2017 Week 32

Today is a very rare Saturday night off, which I have taken for a relative's birthday party. She was talking about it months in advance, and I think carried distinct recollection of me not being there last year. It turned out well for us to be there this year. We arrived as cake was served and most of the people who weren't immediate family were leaving, and we were able to enjoy some time in the pool afterwards. Theoretically, after playing songs after writing this post, I could have some time ...

  13. LB log - 2017 Week 31

The database was down, guys. It was down. The database.

This week's haul: Chessie System hat. The hat I was wearing for work was something that I found on the ground when I was working at a mail facility so many years ago. By this point there were visible chemical stains on it, which is impressive given that the hat itself is black (or at least was black, and has now become ever so slightly lighter to look something like a dark navy blue). It was time. Oil and oil filter, the car's ...

  14. LB log - 2017 Week 30

At work, there have been a few people who were forced to work an extra day during this week and only have one day off. I wasn't one of the chosen. I don't particularly look forward to having such a thing imposed on me, though I wonder if it will come to that point, given that my days off are during the week when work volume usually isn't very high and there are more people scheduled in general. I've thought about it before, and perhaps all the more so now, I should probably just stick with the schedule ...

  15. LB log - 2017 Week 29

This week has thankfully been rather non eventful, at least as of Friday morning. No new four figure expenditures, no traffic incidents, and so on. I appreciate it. Of course, in writing this Saturday morning, I do so after bending the latch release on the unit good enough that it needs to be replace. At least it wasn't enough so that I couldn't wedge myself out from the last move. I almost had a good Saturday. Almost.

I ordered a portable printer and it arrived on my first day off ...
