Who cares about the Driver series? Sure it may have been relevant back in the Playstation 1 days and even past the first game that's up for debate. Flash forward some 200 years and Driver: SF hits. I in my infinite lack of wisdom pass this game up despite the shockingly good demo. I can't even remember what I was playing instead. Gears of War 3? Whatever. If anything I should have been talking this game up for the remainder of 2011. Not only does it run at a most excellent 60 frames per second it's ...
My society-imposed duty of paying homage to my mother today is not being enforced, as she is currently out of the country with my sister on another trip. Good for her, and good for me, as I can do without buying into Hallmark bullshit. Judging by the lack of traffic at the retail store today, it would appear that many people are loyal to the concept and holiday. If I recall correctly, I worked there the last Mother's Day as well, and that it was similarly light in volume. I managed to finish up ...
Today we decided to buy some take-out food (burritos) to observe Mother's Day, as none of us have a particularly strong desire to dine out. I also decided to go to Baker's Square to get a pie for today's dessert. On the way out, I drove past a main local intersection where there was a car stalled in the turn lane going the opposite direction of how I was heading out to get the food. The resultant line from the traffic jam stretched for at least half of a mile from the point. To accomodate, I managed ...
Moving on to development of the Form 1120 S series now, as I'm finally out of the woods for the first three scenario main forms. I still have to do the freeform attachments in the test cases but those are very simple. Having done the proper 1120 previously has also helped me set up some things for the 1120S which would have taken extra time and aggravation to plot out again. The college student is set to return to retail work this coming Monday. His eagerness in talking about games is going to test ...
My wife has a Cintiq 21UX which has served her very well for some time now, and has had one major repair on it done for free where some ghosting started to come around. One thing which Wacom will not replace for free, however, is scratching that comes about on the plastic protective surface which starts and spreads due to the plastic nub of the pen wearing down to a fine point which progressively digs into the skin. Sending the screen in to Wacom for resurfacing costs $200. I tried using some car ...
First off I'm not a big fan of Demon's Souls. Why? All you need to know is that I didn't like it. However with Dark Souls if I had played it last year I'd probably have considered it one of my favorites of 2011. For quite awhile I was almost entirely immersed in this game. Not only would I be playing Dark Souls but I'd also be watching DS streams at the same time. This title is a perfect example of "Making the game yours". This is a motto I came up ...
And now here's today's dose of one of the worst parts of TNL! Glad to be of service! With the remainder of bills paid off for the month I need to see about preordering Akai Katana. There was a small leak which did develop in the plumbing work that I did yesterday, but in a different spot, so at least the issue which I needed to repair was still fixed. Luckily, the silicone sealant is easy to strip off and a new application of it seems to show better promise in maintaining a seal. ...
Upon coming home from retail work yesterday, I was told that the kitchen sink had started a slight leak. It was caught in time before there was extensive damage to the cabinet, thankfully. I asked my mother-in-law to take a picture of the problematic part of the pipework so that she could go to the hardware store and use that visual cue to help find a proper replacement, so that I could install it when I woke up today. It wasn't done, and I had to make two trips to the store - one to get the drain ...
I may have managed to avoid the heavy rain yesterday, but I still spent most of the day being soaked today. I was one of two scheduled cartmen who shown up for the occasion. At least it was warm enough to not bother working while being drenched, and the Monday volume meant it was possible to catch up despite the shorthandedness. Otherwise there was nothing remarkable in the course of the day - no incidents, nothing broke which hasn't already been broke. Extra Mode. Now with a hair ...
There is a silence in the house now and I couldn't be more relieved. The child slept less than four hours each day he was here and I became worn out. I felt numb and listless for several hours after they were gone, and could only lay on the couch in a daze immediately after their departure. Despite that, I'm still glad to have had the day off from retail work because there were a few spots of heavy rain which I thankfully didn't have to absorb. Extra Mode. Code: EX% & Rank ...

So today's plans basically have occurred without incident or much of anything which I would consider to be particularly extraordinary. Our decision to see the earliest showing of Avengers turned out to be rather prudent since the line to see the showing after ours had about fifty people in it, and that was just outside of the actual hall entrance, as well as it being for one of three screens that they were running it on. Then off to Fashion Bug so that my wife's friend could procure a set of proper ...
T minus four hours until the company arrives. I need to be quick. Despite having shitty sleep due to the thunderstorms that rolled on in the night, work was OK today, particularly in the second half of the day when there four of us out there at the same time, which is a circumstance that hasn't happened in at least a month to my specific memory. Warmup with some easy stuff first, then Extra Mode. Random songs. Code: EX% & Rank EX.p/f pg.gr.gd.bd.pr combo nc onc %+ date ...

I finally took a moment to drive out and deposit a check given to me for preparation of my Uncle's taxes. The branch which I go to now is probably no more than two miles away, closer to one, and took little time after weaving through some sidestreets so that I didn't have to wait at major intersections. I wonder how long it would have taken me to ride my bike over there. Otherwise, not much special going on today other than working further on Form 1118. Despite cutting out half of the form pages, ...
Seeing as how I never had a need to do so, I never got any standard emulator programs up and running on my LB machine; but since I have visitors coming over the weekend, I decided to take care of it yesterday and get things on here. Mame++ and Nestopia are now here, and in playing some NES games I noticed that there was some frame and audio skipping issues, which I found odd because it's obviously not a taxing program and I don't have lots of garbage running in the background. I figured maybe AVG ...
Not even halfway through setting the data bindings and field names for Form 1118 and I cannot save the form without crashing LiveCycle. It's just as well for me to split the development into two halves at this point, seeing as how the test data only requires a few of the eight pages it has, but it's still rather disappointing to hit the ceiling so soon with it. The form is revised frequently (at least, the last revision is as of December 2011) so hopefully it is put in the newer style sooner than ...
