I seem to be stopped dead in my tracks of progressing through the Form 1040 tests. Test Scenario 4 requires the filing of the new Form 8960, and the tax is then reported on Line 60 of Form 1040. One day of full work on tax testing leaves me having to make adjustments to four of the twelve returns as of the time that I'm writing this. That's pretty good progress in my opinion. Issues that have come up have been relatively few and easy to fix. I was able to get all Christmas shopping finalized in rapid order yesterday. I'm glad for that.

I spent the rest of yesterday and some of today spending time trying to get my streaming going as well as watch another IIDX player on his channel. Long story short, I couldn't get my stream to function properly. Messing around with settings on the separate machine led to nothing usable, and using the broadcasting software on the same machine which I use to play the game.

What an irritating day at retail work. Start the day off given an order to audit all shelves in the dairy cooler. Fine, but by the time I get to the back room I get another assignment hoisted on me first; an empty 53' trailer is hooked up to the bay door and they want to load it up with empty pallets to ship away. I have finished the revision for 2013 Form 1120 Schedule M3 just before writing this, and yet again it has nearly every element except a few documentId values altered and in need of repair. I need to stop updating the fields manually and trust in the replace function within the direct editing of the XML code - I'll be able to save a lot of time this way, if any other changes to come are similar to what I've seen so far.

It's been a very long time since I had to take the time to rip MP3 files from CD content. Years ago, my program of choice was dbPowerAmp, but the latest free version that I could find simply didn't work - it would go through the process and then instantly end once the conversion was initiated. Thankfully, finding another program to do this was much easier than finding something to clone a DVD. Now that I have the five CPE courses for the 2013 1040 revisions complete, it's time to move on to the annual ethics course. I think for this one I'll actually take the time to read the supplemental material (particularly since it's a mere 33 pages as opposed to the several hundred that the former content provided), and since the topic is legitimately important to understand.

At the end of the night last night I decided to get all of my spending done at once, and I went ahead with the purchases of what are hopefully the last necessary cords for streaming, as well as paying for renewal of my PTIN through the IRS and my annual member dues to the NAEA. That's about $300 spent there. Now I'll just need to ensure that I have my utilities paid timely and that should hopefully put an end to the December blood letting.

The fourth of the five CPE segments was completed just before writing this, and I obtained the previously elusive perfect score on this particular set of forty questions. At least with this chapter, the material finally went into a new direction and gave some interesting things for me to look over in the future regarding §1031 exchanges. The book states only one person as its author, but I wonder if certain parts were delegated or not given as much attention as others.

A full day today puts me right up at the end of the clock before submitting this entry. I'll need to take the time tomorrow or sometime soon to voice my complaints about the CPE instruction material which I have to work with this year. I suppose the saving grace is that the actual CPE is earned with little difficulty, but that just means that I'll need to do more review on my own and be more cautious in my work to ensure that my instincts are still correct and make adjustments as necessary.
