I don't understand why I have so many moths down here in the basement - by the way, when I say "so many", it's in reference to a quantity of maybe twenty or less, and for all I know it might be the same handful which I keep seeing. But I have seen them around long enough and now I need to actively kill them when I see them.

Today's best retail news is that my wife has now received the title of Employee of the Month. Based on how few people know who she is in the store, I think it's safe to say that the employee voting has fallen flat and the selections now fall on the hands of managers. It's good to see her get the recognition regardless, even if it comes by those means and conveys no other benefits.

Within moments of my wife messaging here to be picked up, the person called to notify of his arrival to fix the treadmill. The operation was a success, but not without some interesting circumstances. The top cover to the treadmill is held down by two hex bolts, both of which were so rusted and stripped that the only way in which to remove the cover was to physically bend it backwards enough to snap it off. The repair person told me that doing this is something that he had to do constantly. I suppose ...

Work begins on the new Form 720, and after getting a few items ironed out just before the song session, I have managed to bring over and update the old content and eliminate all errors in doing so. It's six pages of busywork, and I still have to do some annoying form scripts to enable the addition of some forty line items, but I think I should be able to bring over most of what I did in that respect to the new form as well.

Today's theme is Miserable Monday for many people who my wife and I know. One of her friends is being flooded out by Toronto. Another has three weeks to move out with no particular place she has established to go. Another is recovering from dengue fever. Meanwhile, one of my main pals from Diablo 3 has ended his relationship today, and the little solace to be found there is that they weren't married and had no children, so things could have been worse. One of the two newly hired coworkers at the retail store has informed me that his other job made him an offer - take a forty hour work week or be fired. He chose the former. Retail. I'm at one boundary of the parking lot which is close to other neighboring businesses, which includes a sports equipment store and a barber shop. There's a sidewalk which connects them all. Current tax form progress puts me at Form 1120S Schedule M3. Last night I completed 1120S K1 within a few hours, and I've already taken care of two forms so far today (1120S Schedule D and 8824). My method of figuring out which Forms to update is by working from the start to the end of Publication 4162, and this currently places me at Page 257 of 312. It might be a mere few weeks before I'm ready to compile and test the 2012 test scenarios.

One of the new hires, who was the only person to work with me today, set out an ultimatum at the start of the day in saying that he had submitted a change of availability and that his upcoming schedule didn't conform to his requested hours at all. The whole plan I had yesterday of retiring early didn't quite pan out. Form 8858 is my current task, and it requires me to reconstruct several fields so that addresses can be entered correctly. I move one thing to the next, make copies, make adjustments, and the next thing I know it's already 1AM. At least I am making progress at a fair pace.
