Started the day by making some grilled cheese for the wife and myself. I think it's the most that I've cooked in weeks. What always makes me laugh is that my mother would always have difficulty in keeping grilled cheese from burning - I think her usual downfall was trying to multitask while it was cooking and not being there quickly enough to flip before it was nearly blackened. Got my return filed. Federal refund of $275 and state liability of $63. Good enough.

Yesterday was an adventure of itself in meeting up with the visitors.

Somehow, she made a four hour trip in three and she was approaching the designated meet up spot about fifteen minutes after we had left our house, which put us an hour away. I thought on the fly of a place for us to drive towards each other and meet, and my original destination would have worked out but she fixated on the exact same exit number that I had stated and completely ignored the actual street name itself, ...

I'm Employee of The Month for March at the store. The selection process is now done by employee vote, so apparently enough cashiers know who I am to give me a mention this time. Alas, I do not receive a ham for my award. Strangely enough, another time that we embarked on a meet up for a weekend visit, I had received the award that same day as well.

Today's schedule only allowed for three of us to work, but I correctly foresaw that there would be lower volume today to justify the sparse coverage. If there's a visible depression in traffic for something as banal as Mother's Day, then surely today would have shown an even greater impact.
