Video Games

The first portion of the day at work entailed me sorting through a lot of calendars, and I didn't manage to get it all set in place before I was called away to do other things. The store was subdued by heavy traffic in what's probably everyone nervously anticipating the coming weather, so it's just as well for me to have been out there to be of assistance.

In light of the weather, I'm retiring a bit early so that I can wake up and shovel.

Today wasn't all that good of a day overall. There was an incident at work in which I was given an extra task to do, and, long story short, I ended up accidentally throwing someone's hoodie into the trash compactor. I haven't yet faced any kind of disciplinary action, and I will want to strongly argue my side if it does in fact come, but that doesn't change the fact that I do feel sorry and awful for having committed the mistake. It seems that I may need to get a VGA-HDMI cord if I want to use my PS3 on the monitor that I have set up in front of my elliptical machine. Even though the PS3 has the same universal Sony output as the PS2 and PS1 has, putting that signal to the component-VGA converter box doesn't emit a signal when I have the PS3 on it. Also, I have a DVI-HDMI cord that I hooked up to the monitor directly, but it responded by showing "input not supported" on the screen. That's a bummer for now, but I ...

Stayed up way too late on the game, but I did it to get at least one of each class to 60. This process would have taken days on PC, unless I undertook multiboxing, and it only took a few hours to do on PS3. A waste of time either way is an opinion to have, but now that I've done this I can return the Cain's armor to my friends and not need to undertake that task ever again.

It seems that I didn't hit the post button properly for this entry, which I guess might be just as well because I probably would have forgotten about the end of the month glitch this does with predating a post. This time, though, there wasn't even a post in limbo so I'm not sure what I did wrong. I didn't even have anything to drink at this point. Weird. Oh well.

The discipline I currently lack is that I willingly let myself sleep in on days where I know I'll have something to do after waking up, or at least not prioritizing things properly so that I can assuredly get my exercise done immediately and then get on with the rest of my day. Today's example is that I was up until 4AM with friends on D3, then was woken up at 11AM so that my wife and I could attend a showing of the second Hobbit movie. I have become a recipient of a major set of gear in PS3 D3. My crit rate is still relatively low, but considering that I've received what I have mostly from donations and that I've still played the game for a grand total of a week, I think I'm extremely fortunate to be where I currently stand. Now, the question is how much farther can I push things.

It's 950AM and I set the coffee machine up in the breakroom to make a new pot while I walk to the front of the store and see my wife off to lunch. I manage to catch her just before she leaves, then return to the breakroom to have my coffee. When I get back, I hear two women inside complaining about how strong the coffee is, with one concluding in saying that there's just some people out there who like it so strong. I guess I need to tone it down a bit.

We watched the Doctor Who end of 11 Christmas special and neither me or my wife were particularly impressed with much of any of it. The single word which she used to describe the episode, and I have to agree with, is "lame". It's rather odd how the 50th Anniversary episode was something we felt was rather good, only for this episode to be subsequently aired.

New speakers are set up and function very well. Finally, we can view and play stuff on that TV at a reasonable volume without having it crackle and pop like breakfast cereal.

The D3 binge continues. It should be over once my one friend is back in school.

Songs were rather good today, yet again thankfully. What's interesting is that 隠蓑之坊 is the only song which I passed. Everything else was pain. That's a good thing, at least while I don't ...

Christmas Eve family gathering has come and gone, about as expected.

Time to get more D3 in.

Songs. I had a few shots of Rumple Minze a few hours before play, so perhaps that affected my ability to time any of the charts with lighter note counts. That or I just decided to have a lack of focus on easier charts today. Whatever. Perhaps it's more interesting that I did seem to step my play up the most on the busiest songs that came up today.

Songs were excellent today, presumably because I had an overriding pressure to be done with them in a timely manner. Many of the increases came with strong openings then holding steady in comparison to the previous record for the rest of the song.

Still no response from the IRS, not even an automated receipt response. I need to resume work on the other remaining returns and hope that the #4 scenario that I'm having an issue with remains the only one that has a problem which needs assistance.

Songs were overall excellent today. It's rather strange that if I had simply elected to not play Rest My Mind, the worst score I would have had was with Shox at nearly -4% off of record. How I got -11% on that play is mostly inexplicable, ...

Today's free time discovery that I have made is that following the Scooter Brother around in GTA5 doesn't eventually lead to anything happening. Also, police cars apparently know if you fire a stun gun at them.
