After some consideration on my part for a while and a bit of discussion, I decided to start Mass Effect 1 today. I'm very much unaccustomed to using WASD for movement in a game. After approximately an hour of play, I can see it having some potential for some interesting mechanics and I think it's fair to say that the facial animation and voice syncing is ambitious, but I've already noticed some strange sequencing in the writing, and I'm not sure if the combat ...

Swell. I was about to have my first Form 1040 return sent, and I have the test submission made, completed, and verified, but as of this moment it appears that when I try to log on to the actual live data submission environment, I am encountering an error. It's an "unexpected error" that I haven't seen before, so I hope that this is an issue which is beyond my control. However, the IRS MEF status page shows no issues at present. I'll have to call tomorrow.

It's after dinner, I'm seated and ready to squeeze in a bit of work before making a meeting in the game, and then - my PC decides to start doing some things extremely slowly. Refreshing the file listing in some Explorer windows takes more than a minute. I figure I haven't rebooted in a while, and do so, and the system eventually reaches a black screen and hangs. The meeting with the estate attorney was actually useful today, and long story short, I am now a contractor for the purpose of supervising the implementation of my message board idea as well as one of the main data entry persons once the framework is in place. Shoveling snow isn't all that bad when the weather is within the twenty degree range and it's sunny outside - it makes it easy to scoop the snow up in large chunks which can be removed cleanly from the pavement as long as you carefully flip them over.

Her hands still hurt. You keep watching her seethe the breath in her teeth as she winces and grasps at her wrists. You watch her do this, and you keep doing things which don't help her. Why. She shrugs it off, usually, and comes around ...

Today I was a bum, rather than get any work done. I'm probably going to keep pressing until every fume within me is expired and I am spent. I felt that I would have been free at the start of the day, but talking with my wife about the game led me to finish moving her character along. OK. Now maybe one more day of this will be enough to get me done. Ha, ha.

Waking up with my wife today was mostly for the best, though after putzing around after work and with songs here and now, I'm pressed for time to try to get exercise tonight before the rest of the day slips away.

The next few days will be spent doing more tax form work and making sure I'm ready to go, though on that respect I'm about as ready as I'm going to get.

The wakeup went without issue and I was able to go about my morning routine two hours earlier. I spent a substantial portion of the morning cleaning some products within a section of an aisle because there were a few dozen bottles of merchandise which had fallen behind and underneath the shelves, which meant that I couldn't get an accurate assessment made and therefore inhibited my task. Yesterday I spoke of needing a change to my routine, and sure enough I have come to embrace such a change as of today. On Sundays, and certain Mondays when applicable, rather than work 7AM to 4PM, I will work 5AM to 2PM. The purpose is to better facilitate how and when our work loads are generated, so there is a tangible benefit to doing this. I should probably take the 2013 tax book with me to work for a few days and get in a habit of looking through the pages to see if I catch anything in the periphery. I think I need a break in the routine. I had work, played some D3 with my wife, played songs, and am now writing this with an hour to go before I must be in bed lest I have too little sleep. I am approved for filing Form 1040 tax returns for the 2013 tax year. I'm grateful to have the process be done.

Resuming the work on the 2013 Form 1120 series has been coming along for a few days now and has proven to be pretty easy to pick up where I left off. I've already done a few (very short and simple) new Forms from scratch today and yesterday and have had them completed within an hour or so. A long night with pals on D3 leading into 4AM results in me waking up at about Noon today. I go to check the mail to see if I have an IRS response to my submission on Friday, and I do. I am not yet approved. One of the last two tests which I had an error with, which they acknowledged was fixed with the Friday submission, had another value on another Form changed in a revision to the test scenario which they attached to their response. I'm exercising and listening to NPR, and naturally the discussion of the day is related to MLK.
