First day on the road and I'm still bad. The guy makes it look as natural as breathing. One gear shift to another comes like smooth creamy butter. My mother in law had a medical procedure to do which would leave her unable to use a car for the rest of the day, so we made arrangments for me to pick her and my wife home after my shift. I wouldn't be home until 1PM. I fell into bed in a heap. Tomorrow morning I'll need to see what happens when I report to jury duty roll ...
This has been a rather annoying past few days. Yesterday I was compelled to do a few thinsg which led to me never getting to exercise until early this morning, and while playing Dodonpachi in the process I found myself to be very unfocused. I knew that if I were to play songs at that point, it would have been a fruitless effort so I resolved to simply try to read a book instead. Even after removing myself from the computer here and going upstairs to do it I simply couldn't find a ...
In bed at 300PM and up now at 930PM. As opposed to writing this at the end of my day, this comes as it starts. There's still a lot of individual little questions to be answered about how I'll go about doing everything, such as home meals and time to do routine things like exercise and songs. This morning's fun event was helping my sister perform a moving operation. Their neighbor had a children's playground set that they were willing to give away rather than throw out. ...
The next week starts this coming Tuesday at 2:00 AM. Everything will now be flipped around, and I'll be back to sleeping in the day as I did years ago before. I think I'm ready. The work environment there is pretty laid back overall, and I believe that as long as I keep a level head I'll be able to make myself become a useful driver with a minimal amount of training. I just need to be patient and attentive, and both of these things I can do. One of the ...
Up against the clock. Today was better than yesterday - what a difference halving the commute time makes. I should have more time to talk tomorrow. Songs could have been worse. Lunar Beat. Extra Mode. Double play. "@" denotes Random chart modifier. All songs are of highest difficulty type unless specified. First line, by column; song title, EX score percentage and letter grade rank, EX score value and pass/fail, judgment readout (just ...
This is a hell of a way to lead off the second half. The storm weather that came through last night did indeed inflict some respectable damage all throughout the area. My new commute takes me twenty miles out, and throughout the entire trip there were random spots of uprooted trees, some of which landed on power lines or houses. There were many stoplights that were operating on flashing red only. The trip to and from work was painful today. Getting food for lunch was an ordeal as ...
At the moment that I'm writing this, the website for the Fukuchiyama radio station stream that I listen to is inaccessible. Their entire website was down when I looked earlier. Therefore I had to resort to Youtube to have something to listen to while I banged my head against the Diablo 3 wall, and I figured to find something that I haven't heard from in a while - Infected Mushroom. I had no idea they were out of Israel. While I find the swift passage of time that I'm doing this to ...
In this free weekend that I have before the next job starts, I'm resolving to do one last major thing in PS3 Diablo 3 in that I never really made an effort to have a serviceable Witch Doctor. Based on everything I'm reading about how improved they are in the expansion and how Wizards are still getting whittled away, I figured that it could be good to have a team of them ready to go in case I feel compelled to switch. The power leveling process is done and I think I have a WD set up which is good ...
Neither of us slept much in the night. She wasn't in a deep sleep at any point that I can recall, and I know that at least one point where I was finally in the midst of succumbing to slumber I had the cat jump onto my body and nestle next to me for pets. I had to retreat to the futon in the basement to get as much rest as I could between that and my intended wake up time of two hours afterward. They pestered me a bit to convince my wife to stay, and then they directly pestered her ...
It feels good to have a totally cleaned out mailbox. The reading of Bushido by Inazo Mitobe is going by pretty quickly. I should be able to get it completed in a few days at most. It's rather frightening to see the how much his grasp of English far surpasses many native speakers today. It's also interesting how the book is structured to primarily draw parallels and amalgamate the perspective of bushido customs with that of other countries; these were things which were pointed out ...
At some point around 230AM today, the Internet connection here pooped out. Resetting the router and modem several times did nothing. I went to bed without thinking more of it than to assume that the problem was something with the ISP. I woke up this morning to hear that my mother in law did make a call after it wasn't restored and the issue which ultimately needed to be fixed was the cable connecting the modem to the router. I can't say I've ever had it happen before where that specific cable came ...
Laziness pays off today, as I came to discover that among the things which I kept in my garage from the last bike that I had was the new tire and inner tube which I had purchased for it, and it was the same size as the tire I use now. Replacement was easy and free. I received a mail from the IRS today, the first after I had left them the mail last week which I thought was going to be the first of many as I would discuss each of the points which they cited as my submission being in ...
Is this the long slide home? I reach the entrance at work this morning on my bike and for no particular reason I feel like making myself stop by deliberately bumping into a brick pillar ahead of me rather than catch it with my arm on the side of my body. I usually don't use the handlebar brakes. Mind you that I'm doing this at a speed no faster than a normal walk, and I hit the wall and come to a stop without incident as I expected - or so I thought. When I came back to my bike at ...
During my lunch breaks at work I take the hour to do a bit of Japanese study. It gives my brain something totally different to do. However, I'm coming to notice that my method of study doesn't seem to help the content that I have to look up stick in my head very well. Maybe what I should also do is write down the words that I have to look up here as a way of reinforcing the task. If I get in the habit of doing this, maybe I'll take the time to do it on my days off or the like as well. ...
Almost done with Trollope's book. Yeah, I think the small passages where he doesn't speak too kindly about blacks is what keeps the book if not his entire legacy hidden away from public consideration now. To wit: Originally Posted by Anthony Trollope In saying this I fear that I shall be misunderstood, let me use what foot-note or other mode of protestation I may to guard myself.
