I didn't get to exercise until 3AM yesterday thanks to having other things to do when I woke up. Doing that then going to bed only to wake up and do another hour today was ... nothing particularly special at all actually. I will say, I should have checked the questionnaire that the IRS sent me yesterday before going to bed, as it didn't have a Software ID provided on it, which means that I'll need to await for it to come back in a new response or call for one tomorrow.

It actually did take a bit longer than I expected for the last test return to be done, and I did not manage to get a clean submission on the first attempt. In my defense, however, it was because I followed the data given in the publication which had a line in a form that wasn't in the correct spot.

Not only did I manage to get the two remaining corporation returns done that I mentioned yesterday, but they were both received without error on their first submission attempts. It's been a very long time since I managed to do that. All that remains is Test 1, which I'm working on now, and then I'll see about getting these officially reviewed for approval. I have no retail work scheduled tomorrow, and I'm going to commemorate that by not doing anything different than normal. At least, that's the plan so far. I was able to get the second of four consolidated corporate returns complete last night, this time only requiring two submissions to get to zero errors. I was in bed by 1130PM last night, and I was awake at 5AM this morning, but I don't have much of any recollection of specifically sleeping. I know there was one point in the night that I looked at the clock to see it was 2AM, and I don't remember sleeping directly before or after that point. My wife gets up for work at 4AM, and I recall that happening. Well, whatever, I should be plenty tired to get sleep tonight.

I spent the entirety of the early morning today getting the consolidated return completed, and no sooner than 3AM did I have the separate consolidated return done. It is most of the work and, since I know better now, I had enough foresight to copy those Forms to the remaining subsidiary directories so that I don't have to retype anything which remains and merely edit the figures to match the individual corporations to be filed. Work on the consolidated test return is proving to be very slow so far. It's good to have last year's approved return for guidance, as stated before and I will say again, but there are still some errors in the Test Scenario document itself which requires me to look over the submission data and compare to what they have to ensure everything makes sense.

As it turns out, and as I was hoping on the basis of how the IRS system was handling it before, I had no issue in conducting test submissions in the course of the night. I was considering having a blow off night to play some D3 or such, but the cat demanded attention or to be within my field of view until 3AM, so after a while I decided to just go ahead with the next Form 1120 test submission and get it over with, which I did. It's April 15 and the IRS system is still overloaded enough that I couldn't get the two acknowledgements I need back from them, despite trying for most of the day. I guess that means that I can't really continue with making the next 1120 test submission.
