Today's retail work included another half day of truck unloading duty. Apparently, it was a surprise for two shipments to come in today, and they were shorthanded for the task. Oh well.

Beyond that, I felt very tired throughout the day and felt no rush to do anything after getting home and having dinner. The new IRS A2A client came in the mail today, and it appears that I won't have to go through some mystifying process of compiling the Visual C++ or Java source code myself; that's something which I couldn't manage to do, as it didn't seem that I had the resources required to do it, so I've been using Version 1.0 for several years now. The physical label on the disc is a proper printed screen and not handwritten with a dry erase marker, so I feel a bit confident in this version being more useful. ...

At retail work, I now have a key for operation of the mechanical forklift and scissor lifts. My direct training will be tomorrow, and all should go without incident. Here's hoping my actual use of the machines will have the same results. Days when I have to work and my wife are at home are rather long, just for the lack of taking a moment to visit her when she goes to lunch.

My wife and I watched Pacific Rim while we did the Halloween candy duty today. The movie was OK. I made fun of it in spots and she laughed along with it, so that's good enough for me in general. The initial part of the movie might have been the most intriguing, in that it shown a world united in a common cause against an enemy; yet in this fictional world, such unity only exists when the threat is extraterrestrial. How much unity exists in our present reality now? Do we really need to have that ...

Today's highlight was having to remove a dead possum from the backyard. The temperature was rather cool today, so thankfully, by the time we went out to get the carcass into the garbage bag, it was already very stiff. It didn't seem to die from a fight or anything, as it wasn't a scene of gore at its place of death.

I went through the start of the day thinking that I wasn't as drained after The Friend Visit as I was in times past, but after a bit of the day went by without a minor but noticeable headache not going away, which was enough to prevent me from concentrating on anything, the only thing I felt compelled to do was to lie down on the floor of my wife's PC room and nap.

In the course of festivities last night I consumed a third of a liter of Black Label, and had a few beers after that. ...

They are upstairs and watching that new Avengers broadcast show or whatever the hell that is, and are awaiting my return. It's time for me to get my semi annual drink on. If games proceed today as last time, the order will be Apples to Apples, Cards Against Humanity, and then Rock Band 3.

Songs. Sim program had a crash in the middle of the session there, and it came after I thought I had given it plenty of time to flush out loading a song that I exited out of, and the crash came during the preload title screen, which is something that I can't recall specifically having occured before. My hands needed to physically warm up to get playing up to speed.

At the start of the day today, I resolved that I wanted to get the main focus of GTA 5 over and done with, and the reasons for doing so are mainly 1) so that I can have more time to the day in which I can do things, particularly on my work days, and 2) so that I can have the money accumulate and appreciate in stock holdings in the meantime rather than wait for more time to pass and for the opportunity to capitalize to slip further away. I slept for half of the day today, and had the last part of that extended out because the cat decided to wake me up so that I could lift the blanket for him to burrow underneath it and lay down against my body. I was powerless to resist.

In today's play of Densha De Go Final, I managed to get a no continue clear of a long course with a 4 (out of 5) star difficulty rating, and had one stop where I was exactly on time and only one centimeter over the stop point. I originally intended ...

My wife and I both have tomorrow off of work, so we inadvertently ended up making the final push through GTA5 to get the main story missions completed today. Option C. I haven't sought out spoilers to see how much of a difference that choice actually makes at the end. Perhaps now's a good of a time as any to do so.

I think what I'll attempt to do this week is make a week's worth of Everstreets draft entries within my days off from work. Lately, it seems like I've hit something of a stride and have been hitting word counts closer to 1000 than 500 for my entries, so if I prepare a week's worth of material in advance, that should be something that I can do within a day or two if I dedicate enough time to it.
