  1. LB log - 2017 Week 25

Boy I guess it's a good thing I wasn't planning on doing any exercise this morning.

For the second time in less than a year, my phone was stolen. The more positive aspect to this second incident is that it was only my phone itself which was taken and nothing else, so hooray for not having a wallet gone and a not-cheap MP3 player taken. The bizarre aspect to it is that it happened while I was at work. I get to the "main" facility of sorts, drop the trailer I brought in, then ...

  2. LB log - 2017 Week 24

Out of time. Spent the two days off with a lot of social activities with family and friends, and there's not much news to report there otherwise.

Song sessions at home were nice, yet again with a fortunate trend in seeing a lot of miss decreases this time around.

Coming next week - hopefully more news on other business actions and an arcade session where I can actually clear out the next dojo thing in Sinobuz.

Lunar Beat. Extra Mode. Double play. "@" ...

  3. LB log - 2017 Week 23

It took a few hours of trial and error to finally get a NoteTab Pro script to do what I wanted it to do, and I'm not especially happy with the script becoming a giant pile of redundant If clauses to get it done, but it does indeed work as I had hoped. For the much cleaner version I envision, the script would have to simply recognize variable values inserted into other variable names and operate from there, and I did get a few test lines to do exactly that otherwise, so I don't understand why I wasn't ...

  4. LB log - 2017 Week 22

On my third day off for this holiday weekend, I applied for a trademark. The Patentn Office makes it clear in no uncertain terms that the process for approval requires several months and has many ways in which the entire process could be rejected, with no hope for appeal or refund of the filing fee (weighing in at a healthy $300). It needs to be done, though, and I'm fairly certain that I've followed the instructions as indicated and have something in mind which is unique and not in conflict with ...

  5. LB log - 2017 Week 21

I was fully intending to be there either way, but I did wonder if it would have felt awkward to do so in light of the theme of it being behind "Safety Appreciation". Little did I know that attending would have paid off quite so literally.

Having the leisure of choice for my days off this weekend, I elected to indulge in sleep on my days off. Sleep I did. I enjoyed a thoroughly sloven ten hour slumber on both days. Yes, this is very riveting news.

    Progress ...

  6. LB log - 2017 Week 20

A tap on his mirror from my door. Ten minutes of discussion afterward. I better find a way out of this soon.

Social obligations was the theme of the off days for this week. I knew I was due for a visit to the parent's place to see them and the children, and with Mother's Day coming on the weekend, I didn't think I could postpone it any longer. From there I immediately went home to eat dinner and just as quickly get out the door to congregate with my friend for another night of dual ...

  7. LB log - 2017 Week 19

I just won't go through that door anymore. I basically don't ever have to, really. I should have known better anyway.

The aspect to the fallout which is raising the most eyebrows is the garnishment. I'm being told that I should call the local representative. I really don't think I will, though. I'm doing what I think is the appropriate way to accept responsibility for my mistake. He really doesn't need to make references of future new hires coming in to reinforce his point, though. ...

  8. LB log - 2017 Week 18

Nothing says Happy Monday like putting a gash in your truck. Was there fallout from it? Oh yes, there was. A lot of talking. A substantial amount of talking. There'll be a garnishment but I still stay employed there. For now. Yay.

One more week where I can't let it go. Well, it's not like it wasn't without some attempts to make a kind of progress on things. I did send out messages and emails to a few people, and I made a few calls. The direct responses were limited (albeit the ones ...

  9. LB log - 2017 Week 17

On the way in to start the work week, I'm idling at a stop light and the car starts to have much stronger vibration than normal. After a bit of this, the check engine light starts to flash, as opposed to merely be on. Once I start rolling it resumes being normal, but that's not good enough for me. I pop the hood once I arrive at work and take a peek. The reservoir for the coolant is bone dry, and, much more disturbingly, the oil level shows it to seemingly be below the add level. It almost looked ...

  10. LB log - 2017 Week 16

He pointed out to me that he noticed that I never work the sixth day at the job. Yes, I don't. I've found that the job pushes my physical tolerance to its limits, as stated here repeatedly before.

It's been several years since I've handled a new computer for personal use at home, and I had forgotten the sensation of starting off fresh and getting old programs downloaded for the first time and all the rest of fun with the initialization. As it turns out, it's been convenient for me ...

  11. LB log - 2017 Week 15

What a relief to have this week transpire without anything particularly interesting to happen in it.

I ordered a PC and it came in this Thursday. Maybe I'll have time to set it up and make sure it works tomorrow before work, as I have a late start that day. Considering the equipment it has I think the price of $130 was very acceptable. I'll be looking to put it to good use. In related news, my curiosity to see if it was available led me to quickly purchase two names. A similar name ...

  12. LB log - 2017 Week 14

The roof is done. I don't need no water either, but I'd also like to not see the mother fucker burn. Now that I've typed that, look forward to me reporting on a meteor strike next week. Or an appliance that sparks up and spreads.

Her car took $700 this week. They didn't catch the ignition last time. I guess that's how cars are, where you can't really do too much in the line of preventative maintenance outside of the typical things and stave problems off before they arise.

  13. LB log - 2017 Week 13

After a lot of time without doing anything, I've started to make some serious research and initiative steps into some side projects that I've had in mind, one of which I've mentioned long ago but never had much faith in being anything worthwhile to do. The variances in my body's physical condition is making me realize that I cannot stay driving for the remainder of my working days. I'll crack like a fragile pane of glass.

This weekend had a lot of necessary home repairs get done. ...

  14. LB log - 2017 Week 12

Cats are assholes, right? So it's said? Aloof and unaffectionate, right? Well, what happens if that's the kind of thing I want and don't get instead? I only have two days off of work if I allow myself that luxury. I'm away from the house 65 hours per week otherwise. I'm the only person awake during night hours. This cat wants me to interact with him the entire time I'm home and awake on my days off. I feel like I should be doing other things but I keep petting the cat, and getting pestered by the ...

  15. LB log - 2017 Week 11

This week, it is the garage door opener which is in revolt. I suppose I should have been more proactive in making adjustments to it while it was refusing to close after the foundation settlement caused the ground surface to be uneven and seemingly rise. Welp, $500 lesson learned there I guess, or however much it turns out to be. Post script: The lesson turned out to be $200. The opener was merely repaired, and not replaced. It's probably just as well to do it this way for the sake of expedience, ...
