I've been consuming those 5 Hour Energy shots more frequently lately than ever before, and I'm quite surprised as to how effective they are. I tried it a few odd times years ago and I don't recall it having the same effect on me at any of those past times as it does now. I'm mentioning it here because I didn't feel the need to have one today, and I seem to be definitely affected by the deprivation. The last thing I need is an addiction to those things, but if that's what it takes to bring the bacon ...

I think two simple words accurately summarize the overall feeling that I've carried since waking up last night and still have with me at the present moment: Flare up. That's all you need to know? Yeah, I assumed as such too. Though I can at least mention that today's route run was basically as smooth as possible, without annoyances on the road or otherwise and me being back home by 1030AM. That much was very nice.

Songs went better today than yesterday, probably for that aforementioned ...

Everything was fine until the third last stop. I even had a few transmissions to take aboard, and I had yet another 2AM start because of a last minute loading error correction, but I was still rolling through without issue to that point. Then it was just one stupid thing after another. I could have been back to the hub by around 9, and instead it was 1030. Again.

Songs were mostly bad today.

For the last day of work last week, I was awake at 830PM on Friday night, and once I was done and got home, I settled in for another long haul with D3 ROS and managed to stay up until midnight of Saturday. I have no idea how I managed to do that, but I do know that it fundamentally set everything else off course for the remainder of my time off. I had two teleconfrence events to attend to on the following Sunday and Monday, and I at least managed to follow through on those; though the latter of ...

By the time I was at the end of the route I was waiting for something bad to happen, as during the entire morning, everything actually worked out well and as intended. I had no issues with massive quantities of returns, faulty equipment, traffic delays, or any other kind of obstacle which has managed to cross my path in the past few days.

I even had enough time to visit my parents after the shift was over.

The position of tandems on a trailer is so very important when using a lift gate. There were a few stops that I had no choice but to manually unload by hand rather than transport the pallets as usual because the rear was too close to the ground and the gate didn't have proper clearance to fully unfold. Making matters much worse towards the end of the day was when I attempted to find a way around some construction traffic back up and eventually wound up in a dead end and had to retrace my steps. ...

Frazzled. The volume was light on the day so up until the second to last stop, I actually managed to conduct the route efficiently enough that I started the day a half hour late and by that point was a half hour ahead of the intended schedule. I take three stretches of expressway over to the last stop, and right at the junction of the first two there was an accident on the other side of the road which reduced the three lanes to one. The amount of traffic backed up had a length of at least ten miles, ...

I believe I may have come to realize what's causing there to be so many returns on my route and other drivers' routes as well - apparently, many dealerships are conducting inventory this week. Oh mercy me. That being the case, it still doesn't excuse some other actions such as certain people parking their parts shipping cars in front of the dock entrances.

There were also more rollover accidents today, and the same as before, I came around to see one of them just as the situation ...

I did something this weekend which I haven't in a month - sleep in my original actual bed. It seems to have made all the difference. The amount of returns I encountered today was almost as high as I had on Saturday, and I still didn't make it home until just before noon, but I wasn't nearly as exhausted by the run. Later conversation with the boss informed me that all the drivers are facing heavy returns lately, so it's reassuring to know that they can observe that much.

On the way ...

What a draining day. I had more customer return paperwork today than any other previous day on the job so far. The physical quantity was rather substantial as well. I'm not sure why 6806 decided to have a form filled out for each individual piece in the pallete box. Having that final destination tacked on at the end really killed things too.

He asked me if I wanted to work on my days off too. That would make it something like 16 days straight of work, if not have a lone day to interrupt ...

I think it's safe to say that twelve hours is my limit for work in a day before my body starts to rebel against me and internally shut down. Today was an expectedly busy Friday but not as bad as other days and I still had it all wrapped up within reasonable time. I also made a suggestion for a change in a designation's assigned number which should lead to fewer delivery errors in the future.

I prioritized playing songs after being home today, and I do believe the results indicate ...

This has been a full day.

Still out an hour late, but only end up a half hour behind intended schedule at the end of the route. I was able to reach all the important stops in a timely manner. At the start of the day, the night dispatcher asked if I wanted to do any extra work. To my recollection, I did not completely affirm in the positive and said that I would make a determination at the end of the day on the basis of how the day goes. Just as I'm about to leave the dispatch office ...

Maybe some day I'll actually have a career paying job where I'm not exposed to the elements. I do not look forward to Fall. Also, having a job where my performance doesn't directly depend on others would be nice too, but I think just writing that sentence out makes it plain for me to see that it is something of an impossibility. No man is an island, and fewer are paid for attempting to emulate as such.

Another weekend off in Rifts. Oh well. I guess it might become more of a problem once I have all character classes raised and at "entry level max" (as in, baseline sets with half decent rolls for a functional build of some kind). My implicit overall goal is to have one usable character of each class - with the intent of being to play any class needed to compliment a group as well as have a way for up to four people to play the game locally. It's how I had it with vanilla and it worked ...

Today was better at work. Back in plenty of time to do an extra assignment. The twist there is that rather than it being a traditional shuttle run, I was sent to go to a stop to pick up some returns that haven't been obtained from a dealership throughout the week - and this particular dealership is one of the two locations which are normally on my route, and aren't during this particular week. Nobody seems to have a good answer as to why they weren't picked up as usual during the normal route run. ...
