Conversation Between A Robot Bit Me and Anthony

  1. It means, like, recorded at too loud a volume, right? Am I thinking of something else?

I dig the song in any case.
  2. What was that movie you really liked a while back? I think it was French. I tried combing thorough the I Just Watched thread but couldn't find it.
  3. Wellp, there's no arguing against that, really
  4. It says you're talking to me but I can't see anything you're saaaaaaayiiiing!
  5. Let me know ahead of time! We will all grab some drinks!
  6. I'll be in NYC again soon!
  7. Welcome to my world of GGXXAC. I was playing a bunch with drew (kono walchuck) yesterday as AC dizzy. I can't even begin to list the amount of things that piss me off. I would say over half the changes they made from slash are not only negative, but blindingly silly. And they know this, which is why they are removing/heavily nerfing almost all of it. No shit Arcsys. He was playing aba, we were both at super jump height, we trade air heavy CH, and he gets full 90% combo. Certain moves are becoming unusuable because of slashback, and we have throw breaks flying all over the place like its going out of style. It looks horrible. Ugh there is so much bad, oh well. I am trying to get ramon to start playing it.
  8. AC is pissing me off. I'm starting to come around to the idea that Slash might be better. #R surely is. Testament and Jam's combos are so ugly and long. Potemkin and May are uncalled for. Ground slides and wall sticks are not pleasing to the eye. There are too many character-specific combos.

Faust is really neat in this one, though.
  9. I would agree with the inelegance, but with 60 odd characters that games are developing, horrible match-ups seem almost guaranteed.

Honestly I don't mind different vitality stats, as it gives characters different feels. It always felt GREAT to finally nail Chipp with a 2H CH into huge combo. It wasn't easy, but the game rewarded you appropriately.

Actually, the more I think about it, I don't mind life differences, though my idea would still be a last resort.
  10. That could work as a last resort if a developer has already patched a game to hell and back. I always thought mucking around with life bars was inelegant, though. SNK has managed to put out some balanced games with uniform character vitality.

    I'll check ggpo out!
  11. Ooh yeah, there is also a free GGAC for the PC out with GGPO. I hate AC, but I will make an exception to play with friends.
  12. Sure, although perhaps more to help chars like cammy and t hawk.

You know, the more I think about it, SF4 might end up being the standard fighting game of the next 5 years. And I'm not sure that bothers me.
  13. You mean, like, Old Sagat gets 15% more health when fighting Dhalsim?
  14. Ok, so, what about character health changing for matchups as a way to help with matchup balance? I know it would ruin the feel of the character, which is regrettable, but perhaps when all other options are exhausted, it seems like perhaps not a bad idea.
  15. And Mrs. Clouzot is a babe.
  16. Hay!

Here is a spoiler-free criticism of Diabolique: the timing of the detective's appearance at the very, very end was too cute. It borders on deus ex machina and throws rocks at your suspended-precariously-from-a-treetop disbelief.

Definitely worth a look on Instant Watch if you like old school thrillers, though. It's not as stylized as Hitchcock, but shares the same pacing and principles as his stuff.
  17. Dude, one thing I forgot to mention. You seriously have the weird ambiguous SF4 crossup distance DOWN. Both me and my friend were impressed by how many times you got us to fuck up blocking.

Good shit, man. We have to do that again soon. Don't break the game in half!
