One day of full work on tax testing leaves me having to make adjustments to four of the twelve returns as of the time that I'm writing this. That's pretty good progress in my opinion. Issues that have come up have been relatively few and easy to fix. One interesting change for this year is that an "alert", as opposed to an "error", is given if a return is submitted with an EIC entry and without a Form 8867 attached to it. Form 8867 is the Paid Preparer's Checklist for EIC compliance and the IRS publication with the test return data doesn't even have such a Form included in the information for one return which has EIC. The means in which the Form is considered "attached" to the return is also different this year; its documentId must be listed in the referenceDocumentId attribute of the IRS1040 element itself. If only there wasn't the prohibition on filing Form 4868 returns before the end of 2013 - I otherwise might have been ready to go by this time next week.

Songs. The trend of stumbling out of the gate continues, but I think I recall other times where I played Time To Empress poorly despite it coming later in the day. Things shaped up quickly enough and a typical good day, albeit arguably a bit light on new records (but considering how things have gone the last few weeks I'm not about to complain about that), rolled along through the course of play. Unfortunately, I had a crash towards the end when a song was loading and I didn't even get an error report generated out of it, so there went the majority of the playcounts.
