Mission complete. Today marks the second time that I have passed all tests necessary to acquire a CDL. The morning routine at the DMV includes turning on the radio over the speakers within the facility, and it's tuned to the local oldies rock station. They managed to turn it on today precisely with the start of the Yes song Roundabout; it was rather surreal to notice a faint yet familiar guitar melody suddenly come over the silence. While I performed the tests within the facility lot, I was observed by an older gentleman who was about to test yesterday and subsequently canceled when he realized that he needed a few more days of practice. He didn't use the truck before yesterday and it took him by surprise, as I imagine is the case for most everyone else, in that the trailer is not hooked up to the fifth wheel. When I completed and passed the last phase before going on the road, he flashed his lights and gave a thumbs up before departing. It's good to know that I should have set a good example. The examiner didn't tell me any point values that I earned in the process so I have no idea how well I actually did beyond passing, but that's basically just as well considering that knowing how close you are to failure would probably only increase the pressure and anxiety.

My wife will be able to quit her job soon. I'll have a new job soon. I have no idea if my new job will have me running across the country or if I can manage to find something that puts me home more frequently. There are fewer drivers than there are jobs who want to hire them, so I actually do have something of a tiny bit of leverage even in this initial phase. I will spend the next few days in applying to available positions and see what happens when I start to evaluate what they all can offer.

It is a big relief to have this over with, but now I face the next part of trepidation as I will shortly come to know what my options are, and how I'll likely need to choose the one which is no better than the least unpleasant choice. Whatever. This isn't a surprise and I know that all of this is better off in the long run than what I have been doing otherwise to this point.

Songs. I paid a visit to the parents to celebrate (for lack of a better term) my accomplishment (likewise), so I think my jumping right into songs didn't help matters today. Oh well. Playing the easy chart warmups was enjoyable enough and unlike other days I didn't even have more than 10% off of record on a play here.

Lunar Beat. Extra Mode. Double play. "@" denotes Random chart modifier. All songs are of highest difficulty type unless specified.
First line, by column; song title, EX score percentage and letter grade rank, EX score value and pass/fail, judgment readout (just great, great, good, bad poor), highest combo reached, note count of chart under Extra Mode, original note count of chart, percentage increase of Extra Mode notes over original note count, timestamp.
Second line, by column; pass count / play count, EX score percentage difference from record, EX score value difference from record, judgment readout difference from record (if current play is new record), highest combo reached difference from record (if current play is new record), timestamp of old record (if current play is new record).
