Is this the long slide home?

I reach the entrance at work this morning on my bike and for no particular reason I feel like making myself stop by deliberately bumping into a brick pillar ahead of me rather than catch it with my arm on the side of my body. I usually don't use the handlebar brakes. Mind you that I'm doing this at a speed no faster than a normal walk, and I hit the wall and come to a stop without incident as I expected - or so I thought. When I came back to my bike at the end of the day, the front tire was flat. Did I really manage to knock something loose in the inner tube or rupture it by the very minor impact? It's the only logical explanation, except for the fact that the collision really couldn't have been slower. If that was the case, I could have given myself a flat tire just by hitting a curb that was too high at any point in time.

I'm at work and with inventory starting now, the last bits of work to do are coming to a head. All the managers are there and spazzing, as to be expected. I'm asked to make an inventory sheet by printing all appropriate labels to correspond to the contents of the shelving area, which in this case are several floor rugs. Fine. I'm on the ladder and moving things around so that I can scan each item individually and restack as I go through the work so that I spend minimum time in moving the rugs around as I scan them. At one point, there was a palette stored on the grating above the rugs which had some granulated sugar on it, and it had spilled out onto the rugs. I came to discover this as I pulled one of the rugs away over my head and was greeted by a shower of sugar into my face and eyes. That was splendid.

During lunch, I was paid a visit by other employees and got to talking about my upcoming new job and other things, which meant that I couldn't do my Japanese homework on the day.

Other annoyances in the day were less minor than these, and these instances are far from being anything severe, but now I figure that I probably should replace the bike's inner tube and take the bike for that one last day of work, because if trends like this continue, I would take my car to work on the last day and return to find it dented by an errant loose cart or another driver. Dragging the bike home also wasn't especially pleasant. Oh well. There won't be more days like this in the future regardless.

Songs were pretty good today. I can believe that I've played Bad Maniacs a total of seventeen times. Now I know I can safely skip it the new few times it comes up.
