Laziness pays off today, as I came to discover that among the things which I kept in my garage from the last bike that I had was the new tire and inner tube which I had purchased for it, and it was the same size as the tire I use now. Replacement was easy and free.

I received a mail from the IRS today, the first after I had left them the mail last week which I thought was going to be the first of many as I would discuss each of the points which they cited as my submission being in error that I needed to get resolution upon, considering that the reason that I had the errors ranged from figures being wrong or omitted on their test scenario as well as their suggested fixes being impossible to implement without the return being rejected. The note informed me that I had received approval for the software I submitted. That's great. I tried to call the assigned contact later on and couldn't reach her, and I didn't leave a message. What I think I'll do tomorrow is call and just leave a note of my own on the case, and consider that to be my final word on the matter unless they decide to respond further. It's aggravating to have this resolution, because if this is the net result, then it could have been reached weeks ago, and if there are indeed issues which I do need to still further address, this does nothing to help fix them. Also, if there are issues which they need to address, this does nothing to make them acknowledge it. Is the ultimate rationale behind this some kind of logic where they just want to not discuss it any further and want me to shut up? I don't want to believe that to be the case, but it's difficult to see what other motivation there could be on this sudden and unexplained reversal.
